Vogue Italia October 2019 : Jaden & Willow Smith by Hugo Comte

love them both, it´s a good cover, I wish ALL MAGAZINES would stop with these horizontal covers though: it´s silly and ugly. This image is gorgeous anyways so I might get this one ;)

It’s a nice picture but not for a Fashion magazine. It would work better as an editorial spread or a cover for another publication.

Once again, just really awful, when will this guy leave, he should have stayed at GQ, that is his "level"!!

Hugo Comte's photography is lovely and this cover is proof of that, however I can understand why the image rubs people the wrong way. It is pretentious and just as trite a concept as every other cover by Farneti. But these two photograph like a dream, and the image here with it's faintly baroque undertones really intrigues me.

^ LOL like there were nothing before Meisel to be inspired by
Vogue Italia called on the talents of image-maker Hugo Comte to blend references from art history and contemporary visual culture – from Piero della Francesca’s mid. 15th century portraits of Italy’s familial dynasties, the symbolism of fantasy movies, and the vitality of magical realism – and set the scene for two contemporary cultural icons.

Hugo Comte is such a rare gem in a bunch of contemporary photographers. But I guess he will be overused and lose his magic... just like Tim Walker

I suppose in the sea of mediocrity Hugo sort of rises above. Still, if you're going to be "inspired" by someone, don't be half-***ed about it.
