Vogue Italia September 2009 : Sasha, Ash, Anna, Will, Max, Christian, Jamie by Meisel

wow, wow, wow, the new 2 covers are spectacular!! Jamie makes the cover! So happy to see male models on the cover...it all looks like homeless people having fun with makeup and stealing couture clothes from some shop in the middle of the night and having fun with it! Love the mood, love everything about it...the fact there are multiple covers makes it much more exciting!
I also do not see why everybody is critisizing the cover so much...it is impossible to see something new every month, it is the same photographer who shoots the covers of Italian Vogue for the last 20 years and he has proved to be the best, so anything he does is genius! I wish the casting of the female models was different, but i am sure the whole issue will be a pleasure, can not wait to get all the covers next week!

I think the photoshopped look is clearly intentional (and perhaps a commentary on the use of photoshop more generally) and i'm surprised to read so many comments pointing it out, as if people were revealing something that wasn't obvious. but, obviously, that's just my point of view.

So why'd they choose just Sasha's/Ash's cover then?

The other two covers don't look so out of proportion.

Yes, the two other covers aren't as awkward as the first one. I almost like Jamie's one or at least I like it compared to the other ones. She fits the theme, doesn't look she's been dropped thrown there by mistake.

Well, I agree with you Bianca... and I also think that "a commentary on the use of photoshop more generally" sounds too light, too easy. Everybody always criticize Flair, for example, for their awkward and photoshopped covers (that are done on purpose - after a dozen of them you can't doubt any longer ) while everyone is trying to find a suitable excuse for Meisel's cover. Would have been worth to consider if there wasn't two more cover that clearly shows how the awkwardness of Sasha's wasn't done on purpose. I think that Meisel woudn't be that genius if he wasn't able to fail as well.

Again, I'm pretty much eager to see what's inside, especially the unknowns who are always exciting (at least as long as you don't know their names )

guys, I was thinking you all talk about Jamie Dornan, the male model from the second cover(I hope it is him) and not the female model that looks like marilyn manson...I do not think the female choices are any good, so I was happy to see Jamie Dornan(or somebody who looks like him) on the cover.
And i think this is the FIRST time for Italian Vogue to have multiple covers, it had never happened in the past!

I'm not talking out of my as.s when I say these things. The other girls inside should be Sessilee, Coco and Meghan, I believe.

For the record, I think Jamie looks absolutely sensational on that cover and pairing her with Christian Brylle was genius. They're two witches-cum-chimney sweeps.

God this is a boring cover. Actually, all of them are boring. Is it just me or is Vogue Italia lacking some serious direction as of recent?

The only decent issue they've done this year is Kristen one [July 2009]. That was AMAZING. March 2009 was the only other highlight. I can't even remember the other issues...
