Vogue Mexico October 2025 : America Ferrera by Emmanuel Monsalve

Saw the pics of the full story posted by Karla (the editrix) that is not a cover. I mean ... she goes for weird pics for covers, reminds me the one of Yalitza ... i do not quite get it.
Speaking of Karla, she has almost been 10 years into the the role of EIC for Vogue Mexico and LATINAMERICA and I think she only posts mexican stars on the cover .. the only exceptions is Karol G and Bad Bunny.... is that Latinamerica in the span of 10 years?

Vogue Mexico's covers always have cool color schemes. These two covers had potential if Ferrera had different facial expressions. I like the styling and direction. Ferrera looks worried on both covers.

I like her, but not on this.

I don’t mean this in a shady way at all, but she’s the type of celeb that magazines like Marie Claire and Glamour were perfect for.

Tini, Arca, Shakira, Anitta, Adria Arjona, J Balvin, Gloria Estefan, Sofía Vergara, Lali Espósito, etc… I’m not a huge fan of Vogue Mex/Latam but she is very consistent by giving hispanic/latin artists a platform

Stiff and scared, that's all i see..it has potential but it lack of a lot of things to make it work...

I love how your definition of Latinamerica is the definition of a world tour: Mexico, Colombia. Argentina.

I am from Costa Rica, btw, can you mention any costaricans who have been posted there in these 10 years?

She did a b/w story for W I still remember to this day. America can deliver.

She gave recent covers to Ella, Gracie Adams, Angelina Jolie, and all of them aren't latinas. And she's been the same time for Latin America. Her debut issue was Cameron Russell in jeans (August 2016), but her first full issue was Karlie Kloss two months later. In the editor letter she used to say she picked herself every fashion model that appeared there. When she went almost full celebs since Camilla Cabello, broke my heart because I'm a models guy. At lest she brought the best from them most of the times. But I miss the likes of Andreea Diaconu, Hana Jirckova, Joan Smalls, Anja, etc. on the cover. I started buy like 11 years ago because it was celeb free zone, just fashion models.

No one complains about Vogue Italia not putting Italians on the cover,, why is this an issue for this edition… specifically??

Maybe pressure from social media, in particular Vogue MX/Latam. I remember reading lots comments (maybe the majority) disliking the model covers because they don't represent the Mexican or Latin woman. That preassure shake things and the result is what we see today. Even if Meisel made the cover, and the models are talented, the readers would dislike as well. It's fair to put people that actually represents, but I miss models so bad!

Why are you discussing Vogue Italia when we are talking about Vogue Mexico and Latam. ?

Might want to reread my question. Why does the nationality of the people on the cover of this edition of Vogue matter more than any other edition of Vogue? It’s a fair question.

The (sad) truth is that nobody cares about Vogue Mexico/Latam like they did six or more years ago and is not because how good or bad the Karla’s work could be, is because nobody cares about magazines anymore. In fact, people who keeps reading the magazine can confirm that she gives a platform to latin talents every single month even if they’re not cover material.

I did order and bought Yalitzia's cover.

That was a first, it gave signs of change. Sadly, was a one-off.

If you dont get WHY Vogue Mexico AND LATINAMERICA hasnt featured anything from .. lets say, any the 6 Central American countries or even something from the Caribbean or Cuba (unless we count BadBunny) in 10 years ... nothing I can do.
