This is a pretty promising issue of
Vogue Nippon. Aside from the tacky cover, I must say I like the editorials.
Freja's edit is quite good and a bit of a departure for Richardson. With almost all of his images, I can instantly tell he is the photographer, but with this editorial, it wasn't immediately evident to me. I think it's great that he's playing around with different sylistic elements. Also, as usual, Freja proves that she is one of the best models working in the industry. She is so cool, blase, and effortlessly elegant. In my opinion, she embodies nonchalant bourgeois glamour better than any other model currently working. In addition, the
Klute reference is spot-on. This editorial is almost a pictorial reproduction/sum-up of the film! Freja is a great stand-in for Jane Fonda

! The Seventies seem to be really alive this season. First the Carine/Richardson edit in the June/July
Vogue Paris and now this edit seem to indicate that a lot of photographers/editors are influenced by that oh-so-sexy and decadent decade for fall. And here I thought the Fifties would be the decade of inspiration this season!
I also like Eniko's editorial. She looks super sultry as usual, and cherry red is my absolute favorite color, so I can't help but love the pics. I agree with vogue28, though: The editorial STRONGLY resembles the Wasson/Richardson/Alt editorial "A Toute Allure" in the October 2008 issue of
Vogue Paris, right down to the use of leopard print and the red sportscar. Methinks it's a tad bit more than mere coincidence.
