Vogue Paris August 2009 : Daria Werbowy by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

Excellent issue! (not a fan of the cover though ...)
I also like the new Svensson's layout, however with some similarities to Baron's period at Bazaar.
I'm surprised with the anticipation of the Spécial Mode issue that usually arrives in September. Could it means that we can expect a Special Anniversary issue for September?

so great. it's amazing how the gucci and the cavalli shots, for example, are so gucci and cavalli but so tasteful at the same time. i love both shots and love most of that ed actually - the madonna-esque look carine chose for lara in the gaultier shot, the way isabeli posed for odlr making it much less boring (she's fantastic in this ed btw), lily's pose for marc jacobs (it could totally be a campaign shot by juergen teller), and the mcqueen, the paul smith and the miu miu shots as well... i'm also very impressed with the girl in ferré, she's very beautiful. can't wait to have this in my hands.

I think it's already been mentioned in the Cover Rumor thread that the September issue is an Anniversary issue.

Completely forgot about that, it makes sense, thanks!

What I am wondering is why a shot that was obviously part of this editorial ended up on the cover of the June/July issue :unsure:

"ADN de la mode" ed is quite good, but not fantastic. It's kinda commonplace

BerlinRocks posted in the vintage mag thread in September 2008, when VP was requesting help obtaining vintage issues: "it's very important for VOGUE to get old magazines. it's for their 90th Anniversary in 2010."

And the 75th anniversary issue was a Dec/Jan issue, which makes me wonder if we'll be seeing it at the end of this year.

September will be their 900th issue, I don't know will do something big for that issue if they planned an anniversary issue for 2010.

Angellover I think I love you :heart: Thanks for scanning the entire editorial. I'm in I&V heaven right now.

Too bad Edita is not part of the ed as reported before :(

Could # 63 not be Imogen Morris Clark?

"Vogue Paris nait le 15 Juin 1920" - From "Ils Ont Fait Vogue" (Vogue Paris Dec 1995/Jan 1996)

This is quintessential Vogue Paris (And an ironic nod to Vogue US that studio shots can work amazingly well). Loving the editorial and loving the scans - thanks AngelLover!

about the very long ed: it's what vogue us has been doing for fifty years now. what's new about this ed? daria?

i'm very excited about the anniversary issue in september!! hope it will turn out to be something REALLY interesting.

Are you talking in terms of age or years of being a model... because while Dree is older, Sigrid has been a model longer, right? :huh:

Inez & Vinoodh respectfully choose not to work with any models under the age of the 18. Sigrid is too young, in terms of biological age, to have been photographed by them.

My fave shots are:

Jacquetta in Chanel;
Daria in Burberry;
Malgosia in Dior;
Eniko & Isabeli in Rykiel;
Eniko in Nina Ricci;
Malgosia in Max Mara;
Iris in Loewe;
Malgosia in Hermes;
Anja in Ferragamo
Anna in Jil Sander;
Natasha in Paul Smith;
Kamila in Celine;
Daria in Michael Kors;

I'm kinda dissapointed that Viktor & Rolf is not one of the brands featured in the I&V ed. But you can't have everything.

^I think they would have been were this shot two years, or even a year ago. For some reason, they have gone downhill the past two seasons. Kind of funny though, because EVERY other brand (and their sister line) has a page. Even Kenzo! And Deisel :lol:!
