Vogue Paris August 2009 : Daria Werbowy by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

oh my isabeli's shots are too good! she's so expressive. raquel's LV and fendi are great too.

I like the styling of Raquel's Armani shot, but her face is better on the Hugo Boss and Fendi shots. The imitation of Lagerfeld is also great. B)

Yay! So happy to see even more shots! It looks like the same stylists worked with the same models. All of Daria, Anja, and Isabeli's shots are styled by Emmanuelle, all of Shalom, Dree, and Raquel's shots are styled by Joe McKenna, and, I'm guessing, all of Iris, Lara, and Eniko's shots are styled by Carine Roitfeld.

All of Raquel's pics are very strong. And the styling is excellent in each and every one of them. What am I saying, I love almost every model's shots and the styling in each picture ! This is an editorial that purely showcases styling and fashion. And that's why I ADORE it!! It's so great how they nailed each designer's signature aesthetic perfectly. The modern essentials.

I think coming off of the whole "Viktor & Rolf complaining about the ridiculous speed of fashion" thing, I think this is a wise move on the part of the magazine. I don't think fashion has sped up that much, but it's still easy to feel like it's all rushed. I barely have time to appreciate the main collections before I'm bombarded with pre-season and resort shows.

I think, too, that with the appearance of several new talents (ones that will probably stick around), and with the restructuring of many design houses (and ways of showcasing the collections), it makes sense to sit us all down and say "this is who matters and this is why". Just my two cents. Now I just have to hunt down this "clear and concise" issue! ^_^

I totally agree. That's exactly what I get from this editorial. There were so many Fall trends they could have covered, but instead they decided to focus on the modern classics. They totally assessed each important brand and stripped them down to their core aesthetic. It's about each house's personality and the unique style that sets them apart from the rest. Not the trends that lump them all into one category.

Inez & Vinoodh did a really great job this time, I love all the pics that have come out so far. Also the styling looks very great.

I think VP just converted me into actually liking Raquel!! Hands down the editorial is simply a classic.
Cant wait for more!

i'd heard rumors that daria was going to be the only model used in this issue. i'm a little disappointed that it turned out not to be the case but it still looks great. :)

Some really exciting content in this issue, it's like September has arrived one month early (or maybe it's simply that most of the August issues have been a snore).
