Vogue Paris May 2021 : Hailey Bieber by David Sims

I mean she looks better than usual but I don't think she is the type of personality VP's readership want to see. I hope she soon gets bored of modelling because I'm definitely bored of her, she was a nobody before she married and now she's a nobody married to a rapidly declining has-been...
I think that from all the instagirls, she is the most Vogue by Emmanuelle one. She appeared in the magazine before if I recall.

She is that Sandro/Isabel Marant/ YSL kind of girl...Something that neither Bella, Gigi or Kendall will ever be. They have to make efforts to fit in that aesthetic.

Hailey is the « Miss Vogue spread » girl who made it to the cover.

Vogue Paris March 2021, is that you? :)

Not a bad cover, but 1) too similar to the March issue (tough better) and 2) fed up with her.

Certainly one of Hailey Bieber's more finer moments on the cover of Vogue! I love the 80s Madonna vibes I'm getting from the hair, the sense of energy and movement from the shot, the red and just very much a fan of the cover as a whole. Far better than last month's Nora Attal offering, if you ask me.

Apparently Hailey's story is 18 pages long, there's a couture story inside and a denim story which is very "80s French Elle". A British subscriber on Instagram has already received their copy and wrote a review.

Which account I wanna see? Haha

Here she is again... At this point I will consider hiring Luiz Mattos so I could be myself on a VP cover ... I mean this man can get any cover for anyone..

this makes me even sadder that he did nothing for Ale Ambrosio’s career when she switched to IMG

Hailey is on a roll! I was just commenting on her GQ cover lol.

Lovely, it surely fits VP by Alt's aesthetic to a tee.

Whenever I see her on the pages of fashion magazines or in ad campaigns, my immediate response was always to quote Shangela’s rant to Mimi Imfurst (“you’ll never be glamour”). But she proved me wrong here. The styling really does wonders to her look.

Her ubiquity really makes me wonder why people (and of all people, I wouldn’t expect the ones from the fashion world either) would still take Justin Bieber seriously. Like Leo I can understand, he was growing so much as a significantly formidable actor when he was dating Gisele. But Justin? He’s not even eligible to be considered a heartthrob these days.

The difference with the past is that all thise models (Cindy, Gisele, Stephanie,Naomi, Claudia, etc) were stablished names in the industry and pairing with Hollywood men (actors, singers, etc) just made them bigger than before and generated curiosity in other fields than fashion.

In Hailey’s case, she was like a socialité, an okeish model, and she got her power ans her name more stablished from her relationship with Justin Bieber. It’s a good strategy in terms on her career and her agency is milking it. Depends on her if she evolve in a good decent model. I think that this cover, her GQ Korea editorial and some other jobs, prove that she can make her “girl next door” appeal have a good marriage with fashion. And of course they should sell good, otherwise magazines won’t use them that much.

I prefer her over Kendull any day tbh. There is something more classy on Hailey over Kendall.

Curious about her 18page long editorial...and she fits VP’s Emanuelle aesthetic. If she is good directed she can produce good decent content

It’s crazy to think that every nepotism model will get their big 4 before Bella Hadid(who is arguably the best of them) just because Anna Wintour doesn’t like her it’s almost comical/sad at this point that she can’t get a US vogue cover to save her life when each and every other big nepotism got one Kaia,Kendall,Gigi, and even Hailey

Quick review

bijoux with some black girl on a white back, dunno her name

miss vogue with Natasha Poly. Looks more like a main editorial and quite similar to her early Willy Vanderperre shoots on a white back

Hailey by Sims - studio mostly on a white back. Sure thing it’s 80s Madonna trash parade and Snoozefest, don’t wait for any divine revelation from David or Hailey or Alt there, this is not a new Hailey modeling potential.

Couture Ed wit Malika Louback and other new girl with long fringe so you can barely see her face or recognize - studio shoot by Roversi, very Vogue Paris March 2020 lookalike

And Anja Rubik on a beach in jeans very similar to Edita by Purienne in previous issues: muted colors, lil bit topless, you can barely see her face, lots of details, back shots, like a denim close ups, bum shoots in jeans and so on. Can’t say it’s really successful or sexy and Anja doesn’t really look like herself here.

My rate of this issue - 5 points out of 10 if you ask me...

Hailey as Debbie Harry was quite laughable. She belongs to Miss Vogue pages and not more. Then the jewellery ed was just ok and Poly's ed is bad.

Finally the couture editorial is for me the best because Roversi but otherwise not that exciting.

A preview of Hailey Bieber by David Sims - which is pretty fabulous, if you ask me:
