Vogue Poland March 2019 : Malgosia Bela by Hill & Aubrey

It reminds me one of those Mango/Zara editorial/lookbooks that appear in their websites to show their latest products..
I agree with MON, this had a lot of potential but it's definitely a missed opportunity.

You can't have it all. You can't be editor-at-large of a magazine and still appear on the cover. Just gives you an idea of how this edition, and the Czech one, are being run like a Mickey Mouse business.

This cover can be filed next to most of their ones from last year. Forgettable, unnecessary and irrelevant.

I love the light/shade in this. Malgosia's eyes are definitely her most striking feature and the lighting highlights them but in an unconventional and different way.

Sterile, lifeless. A smile would've gone a long way.

Vogue Ukraine on a lazy month. Really not acceptable for such a young publication.

I had no idea she was working there! Jesus, what's with all these "models as editor-at-large" on magazines? Is this just a way for magazines to get attention/connections? The big name to drop? I don't think it's ethical to feature members of a team on the cover, even if they are just "at large". It's showing that person as the face of the magazine.

To be clear, I think Malgosia is one of the most beautiful models out there (body included). If I ever had to pick one woman to represent my ideal woman physically, it would be her. I'm putting this out here just so it shows my disappointment when I say that this is one of the saddest covers I've seen from her. Her power was completely sucked out by that lens, there's nothing there. I blame the light mainly - very badly managed. I'm not feeling the make-up either.

She is legend. Great models and actress and she have a lot to say. If u dont know who is it i think you don't know a lot ...
well thank you very much, i know who malgosia is. *inserts a rolleye emoji*
i was commenting on the cover character. i'm all for subtle, understated elegance, but this looks just cold and uninviting to me. i may be missing a hidden message between the lines, but it's a march issue, so the expectations are a bit higher. i wouldn't like this on the cover of the gentlewoman either, maybe in a margaret howell campaign.

You know what, I'm from Poland, so I understand more about this cover. - This is a reference to the spirit of the Polish seaside, well-known cities such as Gdańsk, Sopot (Solidarity, Lech Wałęsa, etc.). Once again in the news they talk about Gdańsk, because of the murder of Major of Gdańsk. So for Poles this image is more understandable. Shows Polish women from the eighties, with simple hair, simple makeup, poor earrings, gray clothes. That's how our mothers looked in the eighties. That's how I understand it.
BUT.
This is boring. That's all.
I would like to see more fashion, less politics.

I just got it. In print it looks really good.
