Yes my fave is the Chloe Paddington but I would say that Balenciaga was the IT bag for 2005. With all those fabulous colors ,how can you argue with that? Also, although there is overexposure with the celebritities carrying the bag and all the fakes going around, there is a lot of overexposure of LV and TONS of takes going around and that includes Chanel as well, but it doesn't stop people from loving and wanting the bag .

It's hard for me to call the Balenciaga the IT bag of 2005 only because I love it still so much. The IT bag of the previous year makes it seem old and done with. Hence I voted for the Fendi Spy, but the Chloe would be up there too. I can't wait for these fads to be over! (Though I am probably within that crowd that promote the fads and madness!!!)

^^^I completely agree with you! I love the Balenciaga le dix so much, and it's definetly not over and done with! I voted for the Chloe Paddy.

You have to hand it to the Balenciaga bag. Its the only bag I can think of that has enjoyed IT status twice now.
The Fendi Spy was a close second for me (even though someone ruined it for me when they mentioned it looked like ball sac) - followed by the Paddington.
The Stam is fourth, probably only because it arrived so late in the year, it hasn't yet had time to gain the momentum of some of the other bags.
The Chanel Reissue got a lot of talk here, but couldn't be considered an it bag because it hardly got any exposure. To me, IT bags are bags that are talked about a lot, seen in every magazine, and is being carried by every celeb. I can't think of one celeb who owns one. (Well, I bet Mischa owns one, but I haven't seen her carrying it.). Same with the Novak. I think the Mulberry Roxanne, which isn't even on this list, beats out the Chanel and Novak.

I am torn between the spy and paddington, i love them both equally, although the leather on my spy bag has started to show wear after only 3 months or so, i'll go with paddington for now

I think balenciaga wins for sheer popularity, but it doesn't seem fair for it to win since it's had years to become so popular. so for bags that debuted in 2005, my vote goes to the paddington, followed by the spy. I think they're both great bags, but the paddington really exploded, while I don't feel the same about the spy.

There is no balenciaga mania in where I live and I still like. So a vote goes to Balenciaga! Though Fendy is second favorite!
