W Magazine Volume #4 2022 : The '50th Anniversary' Issue

Historic and boundary-breaking stories include "One for the Ages," by Steven Klein, in which the model Amber Valletta is seen aging over the course of a century; hallucinatory photographs by Tim Walker of Tilda Swinton bringing to life eccentric historical characters; an art project by the artist Richard Prince, in which he both comments on and appropriates celebrity imagery; exclusive shoots of pop culture icons like Dolly Parton; playful series of fabulous faux advertising campaigns shattering the sacrosanct lines between advertising and editorial by Steven Meisel; daring covers that perfectly capture the era of the supermodel including Naomi, Kate, Cindy, Linda, Christy, and Gisele; revealing portraits of the most original and creative personalities that includes fashion designers, film directors, artists, interior designers, and musicians; and 1970s party coverage in the early, halcyon days of W.

One for the ages is already complete in W Stories, why repeat?

My guess is that in this book the editorials aren’t necessarily printed in full. I think it’s broken down into chapters (one is on Naomi, for example) and then different images are pulled from the archives to go with that particular chapter/subject.

So in the last 10 years, they'll have published W: The First 40 Years, W: Stories, and 50 Years/50 Stories.

Seems like overkill, considering how irrelevant the magazine has been the last ~ 5 years

It is kind of an overkill, they should've considered curating a digital archive of their magazine instead.

Also there's a recent issue that wasn't released due the tragic concert of Jenner's partner. To me that was their worst moment in the last five years. This magazine started to shine (but not as its own past, Patrick McCarthy was really huge as Sozzani and Tilberis) after it run away from CN. Imagine if W stayed with this global madness right now.

I wanted to buy this issue yesterday at the bookstore but in Italy it's 25.50 euro...insane...i gave a quick look,it's ok issue kinda thick but not worthy to pay that much.

some major covers here... bur Binx, Karlie???I just don't understand anymore

Has anyone in the UK seen any covers other than this one in the various stores? I bought it because in 4 whsmith only this one was for sale, I would have much preferred Amber shalom or Christy

UK-based sellers Newsstand have the Iman cover available and Unique Magazines have listed the cover with Naomi Campbell. Unique Magazines currently has 17 copies available and Newsstand have 6. You may want to contact both to inquire about different covers - they ship worldwide also.

I got the Kendall copy. The issue is bound back to front

I want to get my hands on this but so far the bookstores in LA only seems to carry the Binx cover (which is my least favorite despite loving Binx and Juergen)? Though I did find a Cindy cover once, which also happens to be my other least favorite. Would love the Amber/Christy/Shalom, Alek, or the Bella/Adut/Precious/Kylie covers.
