in her last shoot with w, she was a bit more natural (when she was pregnant), and the one before that was more sexy (smoky eyes, cutout swimsuits, spike heels, etc.)

The "golden girl" tag is overrated and out of date by several yrs - she has 1 hit to her name (SIL) and most think Cate B was more deserving of the oscar and Gwinney only got it due to Harvey's relentless campaign. Afterall the oscars are at heart a popularity contest.

Can't wait to read the interview as I'm sure it'll be full of her usual elitist, pretentious and offensive statements.

BTW what excatly is she promoting? She's one of those celebs they routinely stick on magazine covers when she doesn't have a movie out in the misguided belief that they are a big enough star we'll all rush out and buy it.

I'd love to see the original image, because the cover image is not a photograph - it is merely photoshop. Gwyneth no longer looks like herself on the cover.

I agree.....I do like it when celebrities try/do something different....but when the result doesn't even closely resemble them.....I don't like it!!

I was disappointed when I saw that Gwyneth was going to be the cover subject, I don't dislike her but I was hoping for a fresher face. However, I really like the cover - at least it's fresh in-itself. I can't wait for this issue and to see what's inside. So far this magazine has been my favourite over the past few months!!

the real crime is that they chose Gywneth over Jodie Foster, Jodie is someone who really deserves a cover. Audiences love her and actually go see her movies! who the f*** has seen a paltrow movie since Ripley, which was also the las movie she was in which was like by critics. She's an over rated actress who can't make good or successful movies!

I don't mind the cover......but it just doesn't look like her......it looks model-esque because it just plain doesn't look like Gywneth. If it didn't have Gywneth written under the pic, I wouldn't have known it was her....and what is the point of that........???

Its a daring cover and thats what I like about it. Too often with images of celebrities magazines play it safe. One of my personal pet peeves with celebrity covers is that they're often overly pretty. The same redundant, bland images of smiling faces and fresh apple cheeks or worse yet the staid, almost painfully dated beauty shots. Its all so standard. And while I know that celebrities all have to maintain carefully crafted public images I really get tired of the same old same old. If I wanted a bunch of pretty pictures I'd head down to the local mall and hit up Glamour Shots . The cover of a fashion magazine - regardless of who is on it - should be visually arresting and I think this image accomplishes that. Its not a crowd pleaser, either you love it or you hate it but its interesting.

And it better be the work of Mert and Marcus because I like to think that I can spot their style.
