Wearing Your Heels?

Thank you Prad... I think?

Meg Ann you won't really know till you try. Go for it!
no, i really like them, the comment was sincere ;)

That's the best time to train them. That's when it's the easiest. Try to wear your highest to bed tonite and tell me what you think in the morning.

What will my legs feel like by moring? Will I even be able to move?

Your legs won't feel much different. Your calves might be a little tight but that's normal. You will notice the biggest difference when you put on lower heels tomorrow - It's like sitting down after a long walk - it feels wondeful!

C'mon. Just try it. If I was there I'd help you - honest.

That's up to you. I like to sleep in heels that are 1 inch higher than I plan to wear the next day.

Tomorrow I have a wedding to attend. That means I'll be in 6 inch all day (I'm in the wedding party) so tonite I will sleep in my 7 inch.

So far I have only used these for training. They're too hard for me to walk in all day - so far anyway.

i'm sorry...but those are sooooooo funny.... :P you actually tilt FORWARD...i do not consider tilting forward a desirable effect...just me :innocent:

Those definitely have to screw up your back and mess up your posture.

You realize that after wearing those for prolonged periods of time and over several years, you take huge risks in damaging your achilles tendon... eh? This is only if you value your ability to walk.

Meg-Ann,

Yes I have a picture. The bride wants us in gold. It was sooo hard to find gold heels that didn't look like they were painted.

But I did find some in a custom shoe shop in LA. Here's a picture I took to show my girlfriend who's geeting married.

She bought a pair too - of course!

I think that my tendon has shortened just from 4 an 5 inch heels over the last few years. Anyone else have this too?

This is all so frightening and sad...
I can only wonder why you would want to do this to yourselves. Have we not progressed at all since foot binding!

if you can feel a difference in your tendons, it's definitely not a great sign.

To keep your tendon healthy and in one piece, you should change shoes at least 3 times a day, to 3 different heel heights.. maybe wear your heels to work, sneakers home, and barefoot when you get home ... barefoot counts as a heel height..

it's not good to "train" your feet just so your shoes are comfortable, you're damaging your body.

I only say this, because my good friend has a badly damaged achilles tendon.. she has problems walking to this day.. and can no longer wear any heel at all.

I have worn heels now for about 20 years and don't plan on giving them up any time soon! Who else wears some type of heel on a regular basis?

I don't consider heels foot binding! I am not breaking bones here!
Technically no. you're not breaking bones..

But why would you train your feet? and wear them to sleep??

if they're that severe and uncomfortable to walk around in, they're obviously a little too unnatural to be wearing at all. you've already said you noticed that your tendon has shortened... it wont be long until that sucker snaps...
