I am thinking of a simple, matte leather black bag as an everyday bag, that can hopefully fit in both casual and semiformal outfits

Problem is, half the days I wear outfits that use black as the dark neutral, the other half the time I wear outfits that use brown as the dark neutral.

If I am wearing brown pants and shoes, is the black bag going to look horrid with it? What are your thoughts?

No, black/brown is done. You'll be fine, this is the least of your worries :p ;)

^ im planning on getting this dress for my homecoming dance

That is a gorgeous dress. Is it a deep shade of green? I think gold is a great color choice and as long as the shoe is delicate I don't think it has to be a stiletto (unless you want it to be).

Oh and retailqueen, can you describe the shape of the baby blue jacket?

I have a big one!
A dress I got at Urban; it's navy with cream poka dots, completely sheer, drop waist, the neck button down to the drop waist, sleeveless, manderian collar, knee length. It sounds busy but it flows together. The dress isn't on the site and the camera is broke.
So, what should I wear under?? I thought about a plain slip (no lace)? On Urban's site they have similar dresses (but they're longsleeve and no drop waist) that are worn with jeans. But, I want to wear it in the fall with boots and a jacket?
Thanks for any and all suggestions!!

Sounds like a lovely dress, LifeNatureLove :flower:

I think you're on the right track with the slip. I'd probably do a flesh colored slip or a camisole/half slip combo. You could also layer it over a tank dress. Kind of the same idea. Maybe a navy one? Not sure if that would distract from the cream polkas, though... Good luck and enjoy it!!

^^Thanks Curious!
I think the tank dress would be the better option over a slip (I don't want to look like I'm trying to show off my underwear), thanks! I'm going to try to find cream so there won't be so much navy. Plus, the tank will probably be heavier and would work in the fall with my flat heeled, tan, suede boots. Ahh, can't wait till it gets cooler!

wow, it's a nice top/vest/etc.!:woot: I think a green v neck t-shirt underneath with some long black gloves that go up to your elbows would look cute^_^

i got this ivory lace shirt and even while buying it i was aware that i have no idea how to wear it. i love the looks for fall with dark shirts/tights with ivory or light colored shirts on top.
i took this picture... so you could all see the shirt but also the dark color under. does this work?
also what on the bottom. i usually don't get this stumped. but i really liked the shirt.

the brown ones with jeans tucked into them?

How would you accesorize this dress!?

Wondering if anyone has any ideas for this style & color dress. I was thinking either a simple, long necklace or cunky chain/ and either boots or round-toed pumps?

Ideally. A Shaun Leane horn pendant worn on a really long silver chain, and 5-inch Clichy's.

No chunky necklaces because that would ruin the gorgeous neckline. It doesnt matter the round or point but the height is major to make your legs look ultra long and ultra lean. Pumps only please, no peektoe, open toe and definately no sandals.

I would leave the neckline alone completely for maximum drama and do earrings. I have some in mind, but need my other machine :p Will post tomorrow. What is the dress made of?

I'm not sure is this is the right thread for this, but I really need help.
I have a wedding to attend tomorrow, and I was told I can't wear anything too white for it..
I have no pure white, but the shoes and the skirt are cream-coloured...
So do you think this is ok? I'm so bad at this..

VICTIM - absolutely! YOU can wear anything ;)

Wowcougar - I'm leaning towards a white tank under and maybe a white ballet flat or sneaker like a ked or the sneaker ballets alot of stores have out. Or black shoes of the same variety :flower:

Arug - your color choices are fine. It's only pure white that isn't acceptable. Have a great time :woot:

OK, Adidas, looked like velour, probably is. You know what might be perfect, is those sneaker heels from awhile back that Marc Jacobs did ... anyway, here are the earrings I wanted to suggest ... all Ten Thousand Things from ylang23.com:

Thanks for your tips. I'm now going with no necklace---big earrings. Those ones are nice
fashionista-ta, but I think they should be more prominent if that's the only jewerly worn. Still undecided on shoes/boots/jacket. Any more ideas!?

I need help... what to wear w/ Balenciaga boots?

I need these boots. But I need to justify this $1000+ purchase.

What can I wear with these boots to take away the masculinity? Both casual and dressy looks? This doesn't look skirt-able... what do you think?

Also the top is very "loose" so I don't know how I would wear these with long pants either... just cuffed loosely?

Ooh are those wedge boots??? I like them! I think you could wear them with long billowy skirts or patterned dresses to take off the masculine edge.

Or skinny dark/light blue jeans for a more casual look tucked into those boots.

You could also go full body black and wear soft black sweater and trousers paired up with a colorful scarf!!!

I like this hot pink scarf
