i bought a brown corduroy shirtdress earlier this year on an impulse. i was thrift shopping and it just sort of caught my eye. i like it, but haven't worn it yet. partly because i have no idea what type of footwear to pair it with.

i don't have a picture of my actual dress, but this is an idea:
(taken from ebay user julieok1)

any ideas would be appreciated! heels, flats, boots, whatever.

I think with cordoroy, Aris has the right idea- some brown knee boots

if you can get them in the same color as the dress it'd be very slimming/ lengthening in effect- but you'd want to carry a different colored bag to break it up a bit.

i know what you mean. i tried it on with some dark brown, heeled mules before and with my dark brown hair it was just too much.

i've lightened my hair (not for the dress, heh) and am ready to wear it.

thanks for the tips!

What kind of colours can be worn with Balenciaga bag in Origan? The green is hard to coordinate because it is so light in colour. It's like a faded olive green IRL.

My picture.

bluejeans of course- and ivory/ off white would look really nice with it

^ that's a gorgeous dress :woot:

you could just wear it with a great pair of black stovepipe jeans and some pointy-toe flats

or

you could put a blazer over it, letting the sleeves show

I bought these clogs from BR and I haven't worn them. I like them and I like the look of the tooled leather and the color but I don't know what to wear them with. It's hard for me to figure out what goes with them and I also don't want to look cow-girlish. I hate that and I feel like clogs tend to lean in that direction if you aren't careful.

Can anyone think of a casual everyday outfit? Or if I want to wear them out to bars like in the winter when it's cold... what would you wear on top? I know they go with jeans. What else besides jeans can I wear them with and be stylish? Clogs are usually ugly to me but I took a risk and bought these because I like the look of the leather. Now I don't know what to do with them!:ninja:

Please help.:flower:

i think your best bet is gonna be denim...
what about a denim skirt?...
knickers....?...
culottes...?....
some sort of jumpsuit?...

that is how i see them...:flower:

Hmm yea. I think denim comes to mind for me too but it's ok in shorter lengths? Like a denim mini... would that be ok? I was picturing some kind of eyelet blouse on top but is that overkill on the peasant/cowgirl vibe? I do love eyelet fabric though. So femme but not stuffy.:flower:

THank you for the suggestions soft grey. What about white denim? Maybe?

p.s how old are you? you seem to know so much about fashion and it isn't just your opinions. It's like you actually *know* what's up. Yet I get the impression that you are still very young. were you just born with a knack for this stuff or do you have some insider job or family in the industry or what? Just curious.

The clogs made me think of Dsquared2 and Anna Sui Spring 2006 RTW - lots of denim, flowy skirts and dresses and cowgirl-esque looks.

okie... wth happened to my pic??

^theres tons of colors you could do with it, what popped into my head was lime/soft green (not electric but not pale) or cream.

i think those br clogs would look good with a white summer dress, using the clogs to dress it down...

i have a deep v neck black colored top, thats totally see through (very finely netted) from everywhere except the boob-area. what exactly should i wear it with and more importantly, what kind of undergarment? i want it to be sexy - it has sequin details on my belly area and so i dont want a cami etc totally hiding that. Last time i wore it, i wore just a black bra underneath it and black trousers/or blue jeans with it.
what kind of earrings to wear with a sequinned cleavage bearing top? i didnt waer any last time fearring it to look too cheap...

For the earrings I'm picturing a non-dangly cluster or large post. I'm not an expert but that is just my opinion because it's a little more conservative and old-ladyish but still pretty and you can get away with it with such a sexy top. On the other hand if you were wearing a twinset you'd need much sexier earrings....

THat is just my opinion.:flower:

ANd thank you cavanaugh for the summer dress idea. I think that's more of where I wanted to go. I have a white eyelet bcbg dress that would be perfect. and maybe I'll add a dark leather belt to tie in the shoes....definately not too cowgirl/boyish

You could wear a see through top with a really high neckline-
or a opaque top that showed cleavage

but a sheer top that shows cleavage is too much- it'd look cheap

I'd wear a black cami under it to mask the see throughness- if the cami's under it, you should still be able to see the sparkly stuff right?

and i agree with PinkSatin that stud or post earrings would be best
