Hmm, I'm not one for a toggle/duffle coat this season.faust said:Remember that Margiela coat that was Bergorf Goodman's buyer's pick of the season on the men.style.com feature? I think it's you.

Despite the Margiela label, I find the design pretty ordinary, and it actually reminds me too much of JCrew and Ralph Lauren (both of which have had a version of that for so many years, and this year as well...
Compare JCrew's current one:
I wasn't that into it in the men.style.com article because it looked way too familiar even before the season began in earnest. So many labels have had toggle coats through the years. I'm sure Margiela's might have more interesting new details, but I can't see it just from the pic though. And at that price, I better love it!
Perhaps a cool trench? Nothing has really stood out for me this season. I may check out Costume National and see what they have. What are you looking into getting, faust, if you're getting anything this season?
Agreed. But I guess I meant style-wise, beyond just fit, I'm looking for something that conjures up a little more edge. I'm actually leaning towards a long, quilted nylon coat, but don't know if the Lad Musician one I want will fit a jacket underneath...faust said:I know it may be silly to say from the picture, but the Margiela coat looks like it has this perfect tailored fit, which I can't say about the JCrew, looks potato-sackish to me.
Me neither, hence the need to inspect from time to time. I'll report back if I see anything...Costume National is always a healthy alternative. I hardly pay attention to them anymore, so I can't attest to their current selection.
I might have to align with Helena when it comes to LaRedoute and swear it off

Faust,I heard about your Le Bihan before.....and I can only agree, there's no sense in buying up more and more when one has two gorgeous staples as such, especially if worn for only one season. And they're fairly new too,so...
). It's black trench and everyone is going to have one or similar.

Yea, I hate double breasted as well, but the LeBihan is a good exception because the buttons are fairly small and the two rows sit very close together.
? ),so it would hang well. For myself I have to get something more fitted or at least with a bit of a waist, usually.

It's nice to support small business and the benefits can be great (ie. they don't charge me PST on clothing even though I'm 6 years above the cut-off age for doing that)
