Yeah, LOL, not something from BR or DKNY....actual camel-hair.
Gianfranco Ferre has a nice one as did Dolce and Gabbana....I probably will wait till the end of the season as $1500 and up doesn't really seem justified right now.
I think it looks nice and is something different than the standard navy, charcoal and black.

True. Are you tall? If so, I say hit it.

Yes, I'm 6'3.
You seem to have a good eye, I'm trying to break away from just the regular, ordinary topcoat, maybe something belted.......classic but with a twist....so if you see something....
Thanks in advance.....

If I was your height I'd be in shopping trouble  .

Thank you so much for the compliment. I will keep an eye out. I would definitely advise to make your way downtown once for "a fall preview" - there are very good boutiques there that carry more creative designers than Madison. Apart from Barneys (and Saks clearance sale  ) - uptown fails to impress me anymore. But I know how it is having a family - lots of responsibility.

BTW, did you introduce yourself yet as Softie suggested?

Thanks!

I'm almost ashamed to say I am clueless about downtown shopping. I browsed the NYC shopping thread and felt like a toursit in my own city!
It's just so easy to hit Barneys, Saks and a few other stores of interest in the area on my way home. I don't have much of a casual style (no denim, no sneakers), basically slacks, etc....I find myself saying, hmm, what am I going to wear on a Saturday or after-hours.....it's actually one of the things I'm looking to learn in posting and being a member here.

I did introduce myself:

Ah, well, then look no further, I will hook you up with some incredibly beautiful, creative, unique, original, unconventional, quirky clothing  . I will keep you in mind when the sales start.

thanks for posting these pics runner. I really like all the coats & jackets especially. I am not keen on those leopard trousers though! Limi is good.

You are welcome Runner and many thanks for the pictures:-)
The jkts and coats are lovely. I think this collections has an echo of Yohji, but fresher ans so sweet:-)

Kate Spade - Lady Herringbone Shoes in brown tweed - love em, looks GREAT with jeans.
Kate Spade - Georgetown Opus handbag in brown leather or black leather (I need a new handbag that works 24/7 because I am not a handbag fiend but a shoe fiend, so I couldn't give much second thought about my bag, so standard colours work best for me)
Ralph Lauren - schoolboy blazer fitted for women (I have this thing for prep stuff...haha. And now I can actually fit into these cool blazers that I've been loving for years. Looks great with a denim mini. hehe)
Coat - from either Banana or something similar.
Lilly Pulitzer t-strap thong flats?? (maybe)

I'm almost done with my winter shopping, but of course I've saved the most dificult things for last.

I need:
- A winter coat. Wool, black or charcoal, tailored narrow shape, single-breasted, above-the-knee length. I can't find it anywhere, coats are always too big and too long for me :(

- Winter boots. I've ordered a pair, but it doesn't seem like they'll ever get here. Dark brown, leather, knee-length, flat boots.

- Jeans. Dark wash, not too low-waisted (but not up under my armpits either), bootcut or slightly flared. I can never find the perfect pair of jeans

Cole Haan Equestrian Sherling lined boots....debating if they're worth $340....
anyone ever worn than brand?
hows the quality?
