What is TFS to the fashion world?

I like how many tfs members aren't part of the fashion industry. It allows for fresh opinions, ideas, and thoughts.

I think that TFS is a good source of information for people interested in fashion because everything is archived here. For example, the 90's model tribute thread is probably the most complete collection of the kind on the Internet. However, I would not call the website influential.
If you go to model threads, most of them are fan clubs with posts like 'she's so beautiful/versatile/Sexy' and star style is very enjoyable but mostly a joke in term fashion. The designer threads are maybe the most legit but I would gather fashion people would rather check the collections on Style.com than go through 10 pages of comments here, especially since the majority of posters are not insiders.
Overall, I believe this site is just a helpful database for the fashion world, no less, no more.

I totally agree with everything, most of the model´s threads are indeed fan clubs because its like you said "She´s so beautiful" etc and if you say something there that the members that usually post there don´t agree, something more in fashion term, they get upset because most of them think that the threads are all fanclubs.

I know of one model who does that, actually. She posts in her forum as a different person. Isn't there another thread for something like that? Models who read tFS/their threads or something...

Well I am not in the fashion industry, just a huge fan of fashion and art. I am passionate about designers, their collections, magazines, all the hard work that goes into the fashion world. I love this board, because I get to see all sides of the industry. I like talking to people who are not in the industry, but also those who are, it's interesting to me.

I this board. I waited for a long time for an invitation and was super excited when I finally got it. I don't know what I'd do without this board now...hard to imagine my life without it!

When I post here, I don't think about who might be reading it, because when you write anything, you have no real way of knowing what effect or influence it has, inside the minds of other people.

I try to be thought-provoking while still being respectful, and I hope that people get some use from me... I'll never really know if they do.

i owe my whole fashion week coverage to fashion spot really
when i approached some of the models and asked i could take their picture and they asked what it was for and i said fashion spot a lot of them said "fashion spot! i love fashion spot!" especially sessilee~once i mentioned fashion spot it looked like i gave her candy lol, behati to. i think alot of the models know about fashion spot because i swear i could put up the most obscure photo of a model and someone would be able to recognize them, and maybe even start a thread about them. when i saw anna i didnt have the courage to say a word to her (even though i hear shes nice) but you all better beleive fall 09 im gonna be in it to win it!

I remember when a friend just casually invited me because she knew I liked fashion and said this was a fun community, but frankly, I'd never heard of it before. Still I thought it look pretty cool, so I accepted the invite, and I haven't talked to that same friend in eons, but realizing just how many people are dying to get into tFS, I'm quite thankful my friend randomly gave me an invite. tFS is such an amazing resource, great entertainment, and I have certainly never been a member of a community with SO many uber sweet members!
