What percentage of your monthly Net income do you spend on fashion items?

200%.... I do not need to worry about $, my dad pays them all at this age, but I will get a summer job to buy more and better......

money is here to spend... as long as you have it and it makes you happy, go for it! ;)

whaaaat how can you spend so much on clothes!!!? what about food, going out, transport etc ok maybe its just me but that seems crazy.

i probably only spend about 1/8 of each paycheck. the rest goes to bills and savings. i don't buy very expensive clothes anyway, so i seem to get a lot of bang for my buck.

I spend 100% of it. I get a very generous allowance from my parents and they take care of my bills and what not.

I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohole, I often go out in connection with my job, which means I do it more seldom in my spare time - that already saves me a lot. My parents are nice and I often eat there, so except from my apartment I don't have much to pay for.

 Probably because we all have parents paying rent, food, and bills for us. For me, my incomes are merely allowance and some part time weekend job.

I would have to sit down & do the math to come up with a percentage, but it would be pretty quick to do since I keep track of exactly what I spend. I promise you this, it is nowhere near 50% No one else has been kind enough to offer to pay my mortgage or car payment ... and I wouldn't accept that offer from most people anyway :p My parents did very little for me from day 1, and I don't mind it. I can honestly say that not once since I've been on my own have I asked them for financial help. Let's hear it for independence ;)

Here is a breakdown of my expenses. (As you can tell I was bored and had nothing better to do hehe)

Savings - 46%
Other bills - 19.2%
Car expenses + fuel - 7.6%
Clothes & shoes - 7.1%
Entertainment - 5.7%
Lunches 5.7%
Birthdays/gifts - 3.8%
Hair & beauty - 3%
Mobile - 1.9%

Less than 5%. I'm only 15  and of course live with my parents; I feel guilty for even spending as little money as I do, because clothes are so expensive. I'm getting a job soon and I plan on spending quite a lot on clothes. ;)

You have it down to a science! :woot:

Answering this thread, I spend very little on clothing. I'd like to spend close to 95%, but due to a certain parent, I spend maybe 15% on clothes...but given I work about 25 hours per week, 15% isn't very much.

The sad part is, I don't have any expenses either...so there is very little spending going on to begin with.

i use what i actually make every month, on things for myself... and i use what i have in my savings to pay bills etc. and never touch that for anything else other than that. i never buy on credit.

My car, rent, phone, car insurance etc are payed for so I dont have a lot of expenses. Mostly just food, going out, dry cleaning, makeup + skincare, stuff I need for the appt, my kitty... So I spend about 60% on clothes from money I get and 100% of the little bit I make.

I spent a bit of my allowance on fashion, though my parents contribute greatly.
