What to wear when you're nouveau riche

Well, here's some ultimate rich trappings... :innocent:

Nouveau Riche Palaces
From $100 million mansions to billion-dollar skyscrapers, the palatial homes of today's billionaires put the castles of yore to shame
By Maya Roney

When you've worked hard to earn a fortune, you want your home to make a statement. But some people like to show off more than others, and sometimes the results can be a little…overstated. Mukesh Ambani, India's second-richest man, recently took the concept of conspicuous consumption to new heights when he announced plans to build a 60-story vertical palace in Mumbai for his family of six. The project will cost $1 billion—an excessive amount to spend on a home, some might say, in a city where millions live in cramped slums.

Ambani is not the only wealthy foreigner with a weakness for over-the-top properties. In the past few years, newly rich Indians, Russians, and Middle Easterners have joined American businesspeople as owners of some of the world's most expensive and most extravagant homes. These homeowners may not all be true aristocracy, but who needs to live like a king when you can live like a capitalist?

I would try something like this:

metallic leggins: matthew williamson

gold metallic platform: Christian Louboutin
after all, who cannot recognise the trademark red sole? and not know how much it costs?

p10770017_ph_althero_Transparent.jpg

just to finish by adding a matching LV multicolor belt. some monogram hair clips, and the bracelets, must wear 3 bands together! just to show off how important I am as a customer to LV.

and... finally,

a pair of monogram hoops to glamor it all up.
(LMAO now)

OMG I love it--and you read my mind--after I said that about snake, I thought, yeah, all leopard would be pretty good too :lol::lol:
:P
The ~*gorgeous*~ leopard Blumarine dress that is right on the front page of eluxury's apparel section inspired me to do a leopard themed outfit. Zebra would be pretty fab as well, I think, but is rather difficult to find.

lol. I don't think ALL of that clothing is completely "nouveau riche". Infact, I own some of the pieces that have been posted, LOL. I think alot of what makes new money people tacky is how they present themselves & how much they seem to prattle on about "their money" and go on about "oh, yes these pants are balenciaga and they cost 1200$" ewgh. For example, I own this bathing suit, mostly because I've played polo for so much of my life & loveeee it:

I wear it quite a bit, & if someone considered me some little cafe society/"jet set" girl I would be offended. I understand your post is just all in good fun, I was just giving my "IMO"! :]

I love this thread; so funny. These are prime examples of no creativity or indivuality + loads of money= trashy and tacky

I'm sure someone's already brought this up, but to go ultimate tacky, you're supposed to wear the same designer from head to toe....and to show as much logo as possible.

Love this thread!
