I have wasted too much money on other watches (like on the Breguet on the left side, for example).The AP is the only one which has passed the test of time on the wrist. It was an excellent investment as it made me to stop buying and looking for more watches. However, given some excess money, I would go for the AP Concept 1

Exactly! Sorry, the picture did not show up. The XX is in the middle.

Investments into expensive watches for daily use can result in bad surprises (for asthetical reasons). I have the opportunity to see expensive watches on the wrists of colleagues everyday. This gives a different view on the watches rather than having a look on them occasionally in showcases. My very personal judgment is: the early AP Offshores are absolutely top; you never get bored by an AP ROOC. Pateks are fine, but only the simple ones. Breguet Classique and Marine are ok, but only in white gold or platin. Frank Muller (Casablance) is quite boring after you have seen it twice, Cartier is a huge disappointment. IMVHO

i'm actually in the middle of deciding my next 'proper' watch- i was considering a breguet marine-( something about the blue dial and blue rubber strap)- but have decided it's going to be a royal oak- rose gold ( far more pratical than the offshore montoya rose gold chrono- and half the price!)

Oooh the Rolex Sub(mariner). For a man it will make you think you actually have money and to others look like a douche. For women it will conjure up images of Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen like 3 or 4 years ago when they bought the vintage gold ones. For a woman if you want something big you should get a classic men's dress watch (36-40mm) on a leather strap and not one that would be big and dangly.
