What's Your Fave Hermes Bag?

Also, is the JPG size a new size of the Birkin range? Is it good to have A4 folders, Vogue etc? Ive heard is quite hard to manage?

Yes - it is. It's good for everything that you've mentioned and then some...^_^

Personally, I don't find it hard to manage but that's just me. I think you have to try it out for yourself.

Bad news - this new size is not applicable for the wait list. Since it's a new item, it's only in limited release (i.e. you have to be lucky enough to find it in the store and it's NEVER on the floor). Happy hunting!

Thank you hermes_lemming, i went into my local Hermes store- and yes, the waitinglists are closed :( So i guess im hoping on taking a trip to Paris this summer.

Have you seen the shiny/matte croc in person, which one do you pref. and why?

I am also torned between the colour they are all so gorgeous!

Im scared there is a serious addiction coming on here.. hehe.

I guess if i am to invest that much money, i think i would rather go for the all time classic shape-you can't go wrong then

I agree! I don't buy every expensive 'It' bag out there...I would have to be in  with a bag whether it's 'Classic' or 'Flavor of the Season' status.

Oh, me too. B) That's why I would choose a grey Birkin.

See, here's the difference between me and most of other girls - I don't care if the next 20 chicks I see has the same thing I do. I'm not going to pay $5000.00+ to outrank anyone else. I do it for myself. :flower:

I agree w/ the latest posts... you have to purchase whatever suits your personal tastes, not everyone else's. That how I knew that I absolutely L-O-V-E the shoulder version. I first fell in love with it nearly two years ago. I understand that others may prefer the classic vs. this elongated version but that's what makes us unique. To each their own. Trust me, I thought LONG and HARD before plunking down the *sizeable* dough. To this day, I still think that my JPG is a classic investment. That shape and design alone speaks for itself - both modern & classic. God, I'm so lucky!

Pucci_Mama - I was lucky enough to view both matte and croc in person. Mind you, the following will reflect my own personal tastes. You might feel differently when you view these luxurious skins for yourself. Personally, I found the shiny a bit TOO shiny and instantly fell in love with the matte version. Happy hunting.

Hi Pucci_Mama:
The best way to view all the sample leathers is in the Paris Hermes store..the New Bond Street store in London doesn't even have a sample book any longer....
In terms of the matte vs the shiny leather....I own a chocolate brown matte croc Birkin and to me....it looks a bit more like embossed leather...it doesn't bring out the best of the croc look if you know what I mean...I just ordered a shiny croc Birkin in VIF Rouge and am in love with the swatch and can't wait for the bag.....it looks more rich to me but again as Hermes Lemming mentioned...to each their own...

By the way...I love the JPG shoulder Birkin....truly A NEW CLASSIC...deserves a standing ovation to JPG for his innovation and style....

i think the birkin is beautiful and it does not matter if everyone other woman has one on the street (as they did on Michigan Ave) it is classic but...

i think a birkin should be bought only by those who do not have to save for one. i think it is silly if you have a mortgage payment and a birkin.

i cannot help but chuckle at the woman who has a birkin but can only pay the minimum balance on her massive credit card bill.... those ladies are delusional and simply obsessed with the bag or the message the bag sends.

but i have said before that is just my opinion and if you think it makes sense to save for it and have it go for it!

Yes! That is how I feel about bags and cars.

Hermesfreak, i would have given you some karma, put it says i have to spreat some repurtation, thanks so much for the insight!

I will def have to go to paris, ah as soon as i get time of work.

The rouge VIF sounds crazy divine, is that the one SJP is carrying, the colour is just so luxe! i am torned between the colours as well, if i should go for a safe colour like black or the Rouge, or the blue i posted in this thread before.

I want a bag for work, so i am thinking the 35 could be good, but seeing SJP with her little birkin, it looks so cute! I am torned..

Can you please post a picture of your beautiful brown croc? I just LOVE looking at Birkins. Sheesh, no wonder my eyesight is deteriorating (j.k.).

Hi Hermes Lovers:

Pucci Mama..the Hermes Rouge VIF posting is absolutely devine!!!! And, yes I believe it is the same one that SJP carried on SATC. I had actually seen this same bag at createuresdelux.com and loved it...the rouge VIF swatch at the store in person is a bit lighter...like a blood red (think Cartier classic jewelry box).

Good Luck...

I was just wondering is the JPG Shoulder Birkin really that BIG? Since I am just a small person , would it look like a travel bag for me? Thanks.

Hi Michieco...I have not seen the JPG Birkin in person...perhaps Hermes Lemming can help....

By the way Michieco or Rising Star...since you are both in Hong Kong...do you know of the store in Kowloon that is a reseller of high end brand bags? They are like across the street from International Pearl as you are waling towards Starbucks and the Peninsula hotel....just thought I would ask!!!!! I am going back to Hong Kong in July and wanted to know if you thougt they were credible????

Y'all are so funny. It doesn't look like a travel bag. Michieco, I'm a petite person as well (5'4 and slender build) and it doesn't overwhelm my frame, if you know what I mean. ^_^ It just looks like a really chic bag. A modern take on the classic!

You should only get it if you REALLY love it because the search is a pain! These bags are harder to find that the regular birkins. Limited production (i.e. if it's there, it's there) and not applicable for Birkin list. Good luck! :lucky: Let me know if you have more questions. Ciao!

Hi Hermesfreak, I am not from Hongkong , LOL:wink:

I've seen some sites the sells desginer items in HK.

www.pisa.com.hk

www.3rd-ave.com.hk = ( this site has a black w/ palladium 30cm birkin for sale right now, I have emailed the customer service and asked for the price - HK 65800, USD8545)

My experience is the contrary. I just came back from Geneva recently and they had a JPG birkin on the floor for sale to any customer. And it stayed there for the duration of our stay in Geneva (4 days). The store manager said they are producing less of the JPG bags than originally planned due to lower than expected demand and the original birkins (35 and 30) are still more sought after. Maybe they are harder to find because there's less of them being produced. I met an owner of a high end resale store in Geneva and she said the resale value of the JPG is lower than the classic birkins. I think it's because of the size and the weight and people are worried this is a trendy bag rather than a classic bag that will last for many many years.

Hermes Chicago had a JPG birkin in anthracite (dark grey) last month. They called my friend all the way in Canada to ask if she was interested (and she's not even a regular customer at that store.)
