Which Countries Need Vogue?

I'd like to see a lot of African Elles, a lot of decentralised editions, all doing their own thing and reflecting each country's identity. Elle South Africa seems to be the only one at the moment, and it's been going for some time - over a decade - so the door is open.

Vogue Singapore please.
It's like NO VOGUES in the south-east asian region. Sad...

Vogue Singapore is done. There used to be Vogue Singapore in the late 90's but pulled out of circulation. It was incorporated from Vogue Australia. :flower:

Vogue is all about exclusivity and high society. I think if one country has its own Fortune 200 and its elite can walk side by side with the elite of New York High Society, then Vogue should be there. Sadly for most southeast asian countries, only HongKong and Singapore, i think, have this. The elite of Manila is catching up in fashion but only a few of them, as far as the info I've read in Tatler can be referenced, can really make it as glam as say Lauren Davis or Tinsley Mortimer or even Blaine Trump and the Miller sisters back in the 90's. I'm rooting for a Vogue Dubai. Dubai is extremely fash and there's lots of wealthy girls (heehee)

I notice the similiraties of all the countries which have Vogue.... not sure if it's accurate though. US, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia, Greece, Mexico, China, Japan, Taiwan, India, Korea, Portugal, Brazil, and Russia, these countries all have several billionaires listed in Forbes.:rolleyes:

Wow for real there used to be a Vogue Singapore? Do you own any of them or have a scan of at least one of their covers? Know where I can find them on the internet, at least a cover scan or page or so?

Was there ever a Vogue Argentina?

I don't own one but i can take a picture... gonna look for it, give me til saturday, but it's too small, it was just a small picture on a feature about Singaporean style on American Vogue. Asian model QiQi and photographer Simon Yam were on the cover. :flower:

is there a vogue for scandinavian countries?
No, there is not. And I don't know if it would work.. we don't actually have (if we include Finland in Scandinavia) common language, so it maybe should be in English I guess.. Vogue Sweden would be great, but I don't know if we need any more Vogues at all. Main Vogues are here very well available if you are interested in.

Indonesian VOGUE....!!!!
coz here we got Indo BAZAAR which produce a very good fashion spreads and photo editorial, only for the cover they always reprinted from US BAZAAR's. we have a vast culture and so many different fashion style. Despite there's always 4 pages of Indonesian socialite/billionaire which i hate to see that.
and by the way, this month we just started to launch ELLE Indonesia, the cover is surprised..surprised...Victoria Beckham, and it's reprinted from US or UK Elle??? and they just started to run the magazine, so that's why their editorial is soooo boring. but for their premiere issue, they give a red blooded diary as a gift. and the price is below from Indonesian Bazaar.
i guess people in Indonesia are ready to have a VOGUE Magazine, since last to months all high end brands such Chanel, Dolce Gabbana, Chloe, Jean-paul Gaultier, Max Mara, and soon to be Alexander McQueen, is already have their own flagship stores. even we have Marc Jacobs Boutique here, which in Singapore they don't have. Indonesia is the new Niche market for those high end brands.

here's the photo of Singapore Vogue taken from US Vogue June '96. Caption says "Asian supermodel QiQi and her boyfriend, photographer Simon Yam makes the cover of Singapore Vogue". I'm sorry can't make it clearer. picture is really small and my camera phone is about 5 years old :flower:

I'd love to see a Vogue Nederland (Netherlands/Holland in Dutch)...how awesome would it be to have a first issue a la Vogue US Sept04 with 9 of Holland's topmodels on the cover. Or a la Vogue US May07 with ten girls... We have so many girls to chose from! Imagine Doutzen, Lara, Iekeliene, Bette, Kim, Rianne, Querelle, Dewi, Sophie, Yfke, or perhaps Sanne on one cover shot by Inez & Vinoodh...Dutch glory pur sang

But it's never gonna happen sadly...if ever, it would be a Vogue Benelux.

wearing classic Viktor & Rolf pieces! I would love that, but it will never happen.

is there a vogue for scandinavian countries?
I know Stockholm sells Vogue US at a cheap price sometimes. The price occasionally goes down to $39kr ! :buzz: Swedes have high English competency in general, so maybe that's why maybe they don't need their Vogues.

Also, their Swedish Elle is actually not bad. Their editorials are quite good. ^_^

Was there ever a Vogue Argentina?

There isn't a magazine called Vogue Argentina, but the local edition meant to be sold in Argentina is Vogue Latinoamerica, which shares the same editorial content as Vogue Mexico.

I know, but I read somewhere that there used to be an Argentinan Vogue, so that's why I asked.

I do hope there's a Vogue Scandinavia, they have some pretty talented designers there...and Hong Kong desperately needs a Vogue of its own.

No, I wasn't, and please don't be sorry :flower:
