Sasha has Prada for the longest time, she had Miucca's support when she was just starting then she made a named then Miucca released her etc.

I hope Daphne has "it", tho.

Interesting to see what people thought 6 years ago and what the results actually are. At the beginning mostly everyone dismissed Gemma as having stay power but then in 2007 everyone changed their mind and now she's not modeling at all anymore. In all honesty though Gemma did transcend the baby doll look she helped make famous and proved she did have lasting power, she just didn't want to do it anymore..

Anyway from girls around today I think it's even harder to tell but; Karlie, Jac, Liu, Constance, Karmen, Magdalena, Fei Fei, Joan
And maybe Frida, Nimue, Chanel, Hailey
In my opinion it's too soon to tell for Daphne, Arizona and Emily Baker

Established Girls Who Still Have Lasting Power: Lara, Natasha, Sasha, Anja, Daria, Maryna, Joan, Liu Wen, Constance, Freja, Edita, Any girl with a prolonged beauty contract, Magdalena, Snejana (if she keeps up the work habit)...my mind is going blank for models

New Girls: Emily Baker, Zuzanna Bijoch, Saskia, Kirsi

Girls that I have doubts about: Daphne (she'll never hit mainstream beauty), Frida (love her, but she might end up working in the industry ding something else), Arizona (i feel like she'll take the Agyness route soon), Abbey Lee (her newest look is not so pleasant), Lindsey (Vogue UK and LOVE won't shoot her forever)

true Lindsay will fade soon but Daphne has support of many photographers and designers and getting hot campaigns, Lindsay never had theat big support
she never got any Vogue Paris or Vogue Italia covers

I think Daphne will stay for a long time
I missed must credit Edita, Liu Wen , Karmen with lasting power

I think Monika Jagaciak will stay for a long time. Her beauty is so classic and timeless.

I have my doubts about Abbey Lee though...I'll always love her but with her new look, I don't think her modelling career is going to last. She'll probably be a full-time musician with Our Mountain in a few years or so.

Agreed on Monika. She's got a beauty that will set her apart and stand the test of time. I think she could even have a better career than Karlie. IMG have been doing the right things with her career so far.

I hope Arizona's in it for the long term, she is such a natural beauty with an "it" factor (esp. in print), it's different and refreshing!

Of the new girls from recent season, I think Emily Baker has a long and very successful career ahead, she's classic super material with an edge!

I know Jac is still very young and she has time to do so much more, but she hasn't really given me the impression that she will be around for very long.

I agree about girls like Constance, Fei Fei, Joan, Karlie, Jourdan, Liu Wen, Chanel Iman, Jacquelyn Jablonski and maybe Frida. other girls are too new to tell like Arizona. I adore Ginta to bits, but she seems like another Eastern European girl who is going to fade away after a couple more seasons.

I do think that girls that have more classic beauty are the ones that will always stick around longer. sorry, but I don't see any hope for the Daphne's and other weird looking girls. they only hold attention for a little while before disappearing

I really hope not, but I think you might be right about Ginta. I'll just make the most of the next few seasons and hope YSL adopt her for life.
I don't consider Karlie a classic girl at all. She's started fading already and I really hope she's gone within the next two seasons. I'm really sick of her.
I think Abbey Lee is bored with modelling and once she stops making a million dollars a season she'll quit.

Brand new girls I think will be around for a while: Codie, Dempsey, Emily and Josephine.

As for Karlie.. I'm not exactly her biggest fan but I don't see her fading. She has the support of US Vogue and American designers.. but then again you never know what could happen in this fickle industry.

I see Ginta becoming Vlada 2.0 Still around but just as a runway filler although I hope you're right and YSL keep her

That's true. Kasia made her debut in FW07 and she's still well booked, on the catwalks and for print work. She grabs at least one big campaign every season. She has power to last.

As far as I've heard, Kasia is going to have a break from modelling. I hope it is not true, though. She has been working for the last five years and I think she has a potential to stay even longer.

I think as long as Karl is still alive, Freja will be on the top with her Chanel campaigns and the other stuff by Karl. Also, many photographers and designers love her and we should not forget how many fans she has got here..
I do believe that Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik and Sasha Pivovarova have big chances to become supermodels very soon. Karmen Pedaru, Edita Vilkeviciute, Magdalena Frackowiak, Jourdan Dunn and Maryna Linchuk are doing pretty well, I won't be surprised seeing them after few years still modelling. I am not sure about Abbey Lee though, I bet she is going to focus on her musician career.
Speaking of the newer faces, it is too early to say something, but I can see Constance Jablonski, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Eniko Mihalik, Anna Selezneva, Jac and Jacquelyn Jablonski be around for upcoming five years. I would not like to predict anything for Daphne, Lindsey or Hailey, it is just time question how long they are going to work. But I think Lindsey has the most lasting power among of them.

I think Stam, Donaldson, Trentini, Mcneil will soon vanish. There are some girls with semi-lasting power with the like of the aforementioned that with stay for 5 or more years then will slowly vanish.

Lara, I think has the most staying power & displays most potential to be an icon of all the current models followed by Freja. Anja & Natasha, i don't know, maybe for some time, I wouldn't be surprised if they slowly fade.

^ Agree about Anja & Natasha. They're both obviously attractive, but I can't find any real unique or special qualities about them that makes me think 'star'; to me, they're just a pair of thin blondes from eastern europe. Lara and Freja both have something unique qualities and definitive looks that give them an edge.

I also agree about Stam, Donaldson, Trentini and McNeil disappearing. The only future disappearance of these four that makes me kind of sad is Donaldson. She's just pure class and it's been disappointing to see her career declining in prestige in the last couple of years.

of course Lara has lasting power, I think Lara embodies a modern Kate Moss
and she definitely will be moved to the icons list too, Freja will take her No. 1 spot. Anja and Natasha give them 5 more years and they still book continuous Campaigns they will be on the icon list , think Isabeli , Malgosia or MariaCarla

I agree Beauty contracts can play part in longevity even to icons
like Daria with Lancome, Natalia with Guerlain or Caroline with Estee Lauder

Daphne hopefully will have lasting power, she is very promising ,
booking so much campaigns, I think not even Jac or Frida has achieved such heights. I would not be surprised if Daphne ranks in Top 10 soon
as for the new established ones, Karlie, I see her fading but like Carolini she will still be around doing NY Campaigns and US Vogue just because of Anna W. like her like Trentini. of course Constance, Joan, Karmen, Edita , Fei Fei, Arizona will be around for years
Maryna is not doing bad for an established model
