Why do tFSers like to congratulate each other on their purchases?

Yeah, I don't like mentioning these things to people in real life (though they usually notice and comment on new shoes anyway), so it's nice to have people to share with who I won't feel like I'm bragging to if I say "look at my new shoes!"

uhm... imagine if people really went saying "why'd you spend $1,200 on a pair of shoes?"

of course they have to congratulate them you know they'd feel horrible if they spent that money and they didnt get the attention they wanted...
