Why Do You Shop with Friends who have Similar Taste?

I shop by myself because I don't like people slowing me down. If someone likes something you are wearing and buys it, who cares?

I don't care if they buy it and they are not around me on a regular basis, what I don't like however is folks buying stuff I already purchased and wearing it to the work knowing there is a big possibility that both of us will be caught one day wearing the exact same item. That my friend is annoying and frustrating to no end.

I go "shopping" with my friends for entertainment, rarely for actual shopping. I feel rude when I pick through racks and racks of clothes and have them wait outside the dressing room for me. *shrug*

i used to only like to go shopping with friends who had similar style and taste. at first, it seemed fun. after awhile, it gets too annoying. so now, i either shop by myself, with friends who have totally different styles or with my mom! haha. it works. i feel great after every shopping trip.

I go shopping in regular stores with friends, if they decide to buy the same thing that I have, I just take it as a compliment. It's fair game since there are thousands of the same garments out there if it's from H&M or a similar chain store. It's all about how you wear it as well and what you wear it with. I always pair things up with thrift finds.

but.. when I go thrifting I'm quite picky on whom I bring, I wouldn't want to bring a someone that has the same size in clothes or shoes as me. luckily I don't have to think about that since my fave shopping buddies don't share the same size as me, coincidentally!

I do most of my shopping online...but when I do go shopping I prefer either to go alone or w/a man friend or one of my brothers...they just bring something completely different to the shopping experience for me that I really like. And yeah...I like shopping w/my Mom too because she buys me stuff & she's fun!

I used to shop with my girlfriends, we did have similar taste, but we never had that problem of wanting the same things. There was an unwritten and unspoken rule that who saw it first was entitled to it and we accepted that religiously. i had more problems with girls copying my stuff that I didn't shop with.

Now i shop with my husband or my mother, my husband is a great shopping companion, he can find absolutely everything and has no problem getting something for me in the middle of a gaggle of girls at sales. I like shopping with my mother too, she's always checking the fabrics and the way things are made and she really know if something is worth quality and money wise.

I have to travel to shop with friends who have similar tastes which makes it more fun and I'm prepared to spend.

I enjoy shopping alone or with friends (and even family...sometimes), it often depends on who I'm with if I actually buy anything. when I'm alone I often go to stores I like and with the purpose of purchasing.

one of my favorite pastimes with friends is either horse shopping or shoe shopping!

I prefer to go with my mam and dad, as they get me much more, and I don't feel as if i'm on a budget.

i love shopping alone sometimes because you have all the time to yourself and it's relaxing. but at the same time, i enjoy shopping with my bestfriend. her and i shop together almost every weekend lol.

Like with friends I'm a bit more goofy and I'll try on some random ugly things for laughs and though I'll look for a gem it's not usually my goal. Though it depends on which friends I'm with I guess...

Shopping, be it window or not, is just fun though. :]

I'm the same way though, I can go with a bunch of friends or just myself. I actually end up going with my sis quite a bit.

Ooh, interesting thread!

When I make a critical purchase (in an event or cost sense of the word), I tend to drag my good friend along because he's a designer and is therefore much more cognizant of cut/technique/design than just simply grativating to something trendy and eye-catching. He's also honest and patient so I can't ever ask for more in a shopping partner!

Otherwise I shop by myself. I tend to be speedy and impatient and somehow it's just one of those activities which makes me feel like 24 hours in a day is just not enough. I'd much rather enjoy myself by chilling at home and posting on these forums (while reading NY Times on the next tab).
