Yohji Yamamoto Paris Men's F/W 2016.17

Yohji’s shows consistently casts the strongest-looking individuals. And that alone, gives the designs a distinct personality for every look, even when the clothes aren’t so strong. And they’re not this time.

The Samurai-meets-Mongolian shepherd silhouette created with the plushy down pieces layered under finer pieces are the most interesting suggestion for a cosmopolitan warrior. Those leathers are such a great tease— why aren’t there more…? And the thick, ribbed sweaters are always welcomed. Just wished there were more offerings of these pieces and silhouettes. I sort of hate all the Miro-esque prints and graphics. Yohji’s much better than that— he’s not Givenchy.

Did he put Rei Kawakubo's portrait on the clothes?

poor- yohji and rei...
everyone always associates them...for better or for worse...

i'm into this...
i even like some of those line drawings...
are they stitched on?
that would be the best...
where can we see details or hi res images?
