jun3: I have one too and it's my all-time favorite bag. I have the deer horn handle and it's not as long as your's. I wish mine was larger like your's. I think your bag is an east-west, but it's been so long since I bought mine. I love it. Congrats and enjoy. You will receive so many compliments. I saw Nicole Richie carrying the Mombasa and I had to have it.

I've wanted one for a long time...pretty much since seeing them when they came out in the boutiques in italy. the leather is just divine....i actually almost got the deer horn, but was outbid....but i really like the vintage vibe of the one i aquired. and yes, i was trying to find out the season it came out in....and found out this version is the larger east/west style, like nicoles....but her's was the black

I used to own a YSL Monbasa bag with vintage metal handle. It is absolutely stunning. The only problem was it is hard to carry over your shoulder due to the hardness and the shape of the metal part.

haha. yes, it is a highly recognizable iconic bag, but just underground enough that it fly's under the radar as well. which is another thing i just love about it.
i've been using it daily. the size is wonderful and the leather....ugh! the leather is delicious

the horn handle can get uncomfortable after a while, but when it does i just switch to carrying it in the hand, which is really nice and easy.....i think it was meant to be carried in the hand. i actually just purchased another one with a silver handle on ebay as well. it's my b-day this month, so i figured what the hell. LOL

I find that if I push the widest part of the handle on my shoulder - almost near the metal ring - it eases the comfort level. I also don't carry much in it when I use it. I would not use it for a day of shopping.
I do wish I had the East-West style. I think that is much nicer than the size I have. Something about the shape.
