here are 2 more photos, both taken in natural lighting. one is brighter because i opened the blinds all the way. the other i pulled the blinds down and let in less light. so you can see how the color changes.

no offense..but the ligher which is great....feels like an Easter egg to me. Its really really pretty but....I just think the dark you can wear with more.

its like a black purple...so you can wear it with alot...and its more lush!

I'm with guccigal on this. I've seen both IRL and prefer the darker one. There's just something about the barney purple that is "cartoonish" to me...i don't know if this makes sense. I do like both colors though, its just a matter of preference of one over the other....

I prefer the light one, it has nicer contrast with the golden hardware .. & that light purple tone is the highlight of the season.

i would take the bright purple. its just such an amazing colour and with spring and summer coming up it will really brighten up any look

shopping247, my two cents aren't much help: I love them both! If I had to choose, I'd pick the darker purple only because it seems so saturated in color. BUT... the light purple is so refreshing and spring-like. I would love to be carrying that one RIGHT now.

Thanks for posting the pics, shopping - both purples are so gorgeous, you can't go wrong with either.
Though, personally I would go with the dark purple - I'm in total agreement with guccigal that it's a fab classic colour that will go with lots of things.

I'll like to get a purple YSL bag too but I'll have to see if I can fit it into my budget this year, so at least let me live vicariously through you ladies!

greendrv! posi! everyone! i am so happy to see you all here! it's been ages since i've seen you on TSF. hope to see you on more often!

ladies, thank so much for your thoughts and input. after some playing around yesterday, i have decided to go for the medium in the violet color. the black violet is great too, but i honestly think the large muse looks overwhelming on my petite height. i prefer the medium size on me for sure. too bad the medium muse does not come in the black violet color! but at least that makes my decision easier.

i do think the violet color is very fresh and is a color that i would love to wear right NOW as greendrv said. besides, i just purchases the blueberry spy, a color that i think is closer to the black violet and is not different enough. the violet is different enough and i think i can carry it into the fall. maybe it can be used in the winter too, with a white coat, black boots? yeah!

gg - congrats on getting an oversized muse in the violet! do post pictures when you get this bag!!!

...and i am still waiting for my 2nd medium violet muse to arrive. apparently it went from san francisco all the way to LA...and then it will come back north to where i live across the Bay. STUPID. if i knew it was going to take this long to arrive, i would picked it up instead. oh well!
