I appologize if this is a dumb question, but, I've read people talking about how long the bags will be out for embossing, and I was wondering if you can just take the lock out and give that to them? Why do they need the whole bag?

Also, the only place I can imagine they emboss is the lock, but theres only room for 2 initials, one on each side of the leather tab. I only have 2 initials, but most people have 3, do they not do the middle one?

The whole embossing thing again! Sheesshhh... I drove YSL in Singapore crazy last year trying to get my bag embossed...as the artist was only going to Hong Kong. So, I couldn't get it done!

Well I am in Hong Kong now, but haven't heard abt the embossing here...will ask though! If not, can you swing the plane via here on your way to NY??

the lock is not what's being embossed, if it were the lock it would be called 'engraving' ... cos that's what you do on metal... isn't the lock already engraved with the ysl signature anyhow?

i believe that the bags are being embossed on the leather on either side of the lock... so if your initals are SR it'll look like S (then the lock) R... if you get what i mean..... but i'm not totally clear on this...

Oh dear,my quest for a black day bag has me up in the dead of night and reading every single page in this thread...thanks to all of you informative posters!! And thanks to all those who posted pics.

I really didn't like the shape of this bag when I first saw it...something about the bulbousness of the top and the almost square shape just looked "off".

However,like all successful marketing campaigns,the ads have been winning me over.

Plus the fact that I am deeply disappointed with all other bags that have emerged this spring!!

The other bag I am considering is the gladys bowler by Chloe...but then I think that for the same money the muse is a whole lot more bag,not so?

I would be looking for the large in black,and I will be looking in Europe,so as not to be killed by customs etc.

Like all good things,YSL is not to be found in this flat wet muddy country .

Does anyone know where in London they may still be in a department store? I have phone numbers of boutiques from the YSL website,but in case we don't bond,I would like to be able to return and get my money back rather than store credit.

I like the fact that many of you have reported that the leather slouches after a while. I can also see in the pics of people carrying the bag that the leather is soft,something which my dear departed MJ Stam wasn't.

Do you guys think that this bag will look too bulky on a person with boobs? I will get the large as I just know that the XL will make me look like the side of a house.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the large muse?

I hope that this much worry burns calories .

Selfridges and Harvey Nicks have the muse in a number of different colours. I haven't been to Harrods recently, but you should call there as well. Good luck!

quirky -- at your last line! I would go with the muse over the gladys bowler. The muse is really fabulous and I dont think you get to fully appreciate it until you get it in person. I thought it was quite plain at first but now I carry it more than any other bag

You may be right. The lock is embossed on the sides only though. Maybe it could be a combination, with the first and last letters on the left and right sides of the leather tab, and then the middle one on the leather tab?

Hopfully someone from tFS can go to that party and report back. I'm curious

Ok the o8 something number DID work for Selfridges....and after being sent from one person to another in the S=London store (phone call duration 5 minutes) I was repeatedly told that they do not stock YSL handbags . The handbag lady said that YSL had their own concession within the store,but it was not possible for me to inspire anyone to actually put me through to them.No-one but the bag lady seems to know that they exist,and she couldn't put me through.

Next store....

(LOL Guessgirl glad you're enjoying your muse...I just love the look of the leather once it slouches and I must have this bag now...LOL).
