well.
thanks to everyone for thier comments, i really appreciate them, and look forward to continuing this dialogue with you all.
but as i said before, i am not really a designer who uses a lot of colours.
my work has always been about details, fit and construction techniques. this type of work is usually best ( at least for me) in solid shades (nuetrals)
i just felt a need to try something different this season.
also when i went home to jamaica in May (for the first time in seven years) i went to visit some of the schools i attended when i was a child,
a period in my life when i was very happy. i kind of wanted to recreate that,
thus the theme of the collection "BRIGHTER DAYS"
IT would really be unfair to name the collection as such, and make it dark.
the colours i used are largely from the colours we used in the uniforms we wore in school as a child.
the only change was to use Pink instead of Red.
reason being, that red is a very poweful colour that i really have to figure out how i want to use.
many of you here are not very familiar with my past work, those who do will know that this colour thing is something really new for me.
matter of fact,
i will post some pics of past cllections in the " THE FIRE STILL BURNS" thread that you will have a better understanding of what my style is like
also, i am more than willing to offer some of the items in black and will state this in my lookbook.
thanks
God Bless
