Zooey's Credentials
Zooey Deschanel is to take over the role of Janis Joplin in a movie biopic - a role which was originally to be played by Pink.
You may recognise Zooey from the film Elf, but we think you'll be seeing a lot more of her.
We take a look at the actress and her style...
We love this black shift with pig-tails.
She's often pictured with her big sis, Emily, who appears in Sky One's Bones.
Again, Zooey has gone for a very original style.
She's no stranger to mixing with the stars. And she needn't be ashamed posing with Sarah Jessica Parker in the stylish frock she's chosen.
She has striking features.
While she chooses fab dresses, she likes to go for something just a bit different.
She definitely has star potential.
She does the tights and funky baby-doll look v well.
We're loving the kooky dress... and the kooky pose.
Another vintage-style winner.
In 2005, we spotted her out in this dramatic red carpet number.
And we're sure we've seen Paris Hilton in this dress. No matter, it is rather fabulous, so we'll forgive the same dress faux pas.
Zooey starred as Trillian in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy with Martin Freeman.
Cheeky.
2004 and she's still rocking her own style with cute scarf and cardi.
More mixing with the big names - hosting the Sundance Film Festival with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Does pleated denim ever work for anyone? Not one of Zooey's best.

Well co-ordinated. This time the pleats are spot on.
Her taste for flamboyant clothes is still in evidence in 2003.
Not many people could come anywhere near carrying this off... but Zooey does. Gorgeous.

i saw that movie this summer on the plane i really started watching when i saw her with the vintage ray bans, she is really cool and one celeb that i would like to meet!
