50 Book Challenge for 2011

45. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
46. Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris

I remember that some of you read this and when I saw these on sale, I wanted to try too. I give up tv serie after one season but books was sligtly better.. I actually really loved the first one, not so much the second book but I guess I would still try to read the third book. I still didn't like tv show, I watched couple episodes from the first season again but theme song, casting and location was all I liked, and that wasn't enough to watch it more.

I was really disciplined in my reading to get my fifty books out of the way, so I could start that novel writing challenge in November, but now that I don't have to do it as intensively, I already miss the routine of reading, because it's like being in another world for a while.

Not directly, but it was this tfs thread that put the thought into my head. I doubt I would go as far as registering with the official site and posting stuff up for all to read, but as a personal challenge, I'll take it on. I haven't thought much about it - no plan for a plot - so I'm going to sit down on the day with a blank page, and take it from there...

1. The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother - Amy Chua
2. A law text book, 600+ pages of dense reading, we'll leave it at that.
3. A really long case.
4. An even longer case.

Now I'm on holidays, I can now rip through some classics that I've always wanted to read.

i'm on track, though the book i'm currently reading is a bit slow going...

but, i have to say i'm a little frustrated because there are a few loooong books that i want to read that i haven't picked up simply because i know they'll take too long and will keep me from achieving the 50 book goal...
and i don't want to jeopardize that since i'm so close and i know that i'm compulsive in a way that i'll make myself stay up until all hours of the night reading to make sure i reach 50 books
i'd rather not do that to myself

i definitely foresee reading fewer books overall next year just because i know i'm going to want to read these long books that i've been putting off.

i DO still like this challenge though... it's fun to set goals.
