Another case is Karen Ferrari who was a dead ringer for Valeria.

I always thought that Shana looked like a cross between Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista. But for some reason, Shana reminded me more of Linda than of Cindy. Shana had that same Raquel Welch-lookalike quality that Linda had.

i remember the whole "she is the new cindy crawford" talk when niki taylor and shana came along, cindy started to move away from fashion and into the media ie presenting then acting cause she thought her time as a model was coming to an end with the emergance of niki and shana. they were definately competition but cindy was still supreme!!

i loved the shana as raquel welch look that meisel gave her, he saw that in her and brought it out like linda looking like sophia loren and gina lollobrigida. but the waif grunge look put an end to shana's career plus she wasn't very good on the runway, she really struggled it didn't come naturally to her. its rare to find footage of her on the catwalk but if you do see it you'll understand why she wasn't booked more.

You've got some great points Hipswing! Cindy by the early 90s(after '91) wasn't really used much part of it was her choice,the other half/most was the designers,etc. I mean really Niki(baby Cindy) really gave Cindy a real run but I think why she couldn't fully pull it off was timing(Shana wasn't strong enough either way,IMO and you seem to say that as well)! Niki had a great career,she packed alot into a 7-8 year stretch. Sadly she had lot of bad personal things happen to her! If they,especially Niki would've come out a bit earlier things would've been different. Waifs really did in the sun,smile look of a Niki and the big bodied,classic movie star look of a Shana. Only a few survived this trend,and most of them were already stars baby.

I agree. She had the Cindy's style (with long brown hair) but her face expressions reminds me more of Linda.

Actually, the thought that her heritage might be North African did run through my mind when I first saw her, because I've known for a long time that there are a lot of people of Tunisian and Algerian heritage in France. However, that doesn't mean that she's part black, as someone else here suggested.

Nadege definitely has black blood.
Amber's marriage ended just as quickly as it began. She said in an interview that her family hated her hubby and ganged up on her to convince her not to marry him.

^Yes,Nadege does definitely I read it on several occasions,most notably in a book on minority models! Same with Claudia Mason,its funny people seemed shocked or whatever by it.
