yeah emma s had a great walk you can really see it in the george michael "too funky" video. she is a great mover, really feels the music its like a dance walk. she was an elle magazine favourite, there were always shoots of her outdoors, being sporty or wearing swim wear.

also nadja's walk in that video love her gaze and arm swings, she was very distinctive walker she had an unusual turn too. classy and seductive!!

beverley was supposed to be in the "too funky" video too but she got cut in the editing room

the glamazon didn't disappear when the waif and grunge era came about cause glamour made a comeback and it was triggered when nadja went platinum, she became the most in demand supermodel.

i think it really worked, it suited her face. she did look like an android with those long limbs, those extra long legs. it was modern, bold and she did look futuristic. it fit perfectly this new look for her. some of the best covers, ads and editorials in 1994 featured nadja.

thanks for that, one thing about the 90s especially the mid 90s was how many models were emerging and getting work along with the early 90s girls. so much competition it got quieter for many supermodels because of the new faces. plus the fact fashion by its nature is always moving forward embracing the new and that included the new faces. i did some research you had all these models in the mid 90s working in some capacity and they were all in competition for covers, campaigns and editorial work.

I've often wondered that myself. How does an editor choose which girl to work with, especially with so many models to choose from?

However, it seems that some of the models were overexposed. I've always felt that there was an element of unfairness when it came to certain models being chosen for covers, eds, and ads. I've been a fan of Linda ever since she cut her hair short in the late 80s. I always looked forward to seeing her in as many covers, eds, and ads as possible. But.....I did eventually get a bit tired of seeing her in almost everything. There were so many other good models out there (and just as beautiful). It's a shame that they were not chosen as often as someone like Linda was.

I guess I would've liked to have seen more variety. Many of the ads and editorials and even covers done by the really big stars (Linda, Christy, etc) could've easily been done by just about all of the other successful models of the time.

linda's haircut then going blonde, red and back to brunette etc really caught the top photographers attention plus designers and editors, the reinvention it was like she is a new model each time. they all wanted to work with her every time she worked a new hair cut. linda & christy had very high status cause they were supermodels in late 80s and had a few years on some of the girls that hit supermodel status in the early 90s.

i do agree there were some very safe commercial model choices for covers especially US vogue. too much claudia but i guess she was the most commercial. you can't get more commercial than being a blue eyed blonde. editors had their favourites for sure. also the coming trend of putting celebrities on covers ie singers and actresses didn't help the models, like madonna took crucial months in 1991 and 1992 that could have gone to supermodels.

i don't understand why helena and karen didn't get a Vogue Italia cover in 1991 or in 1992. just crazy! also eva in 1992 her marilyn phase she was commercial why didn't she get a solo US, UK, German, French or Italia cover in 1991 or 1992? she was a big deal!!

i really want anna to explain herself when it came to helena!! someone needs to ask her. what was the reason for not giving her a solo cover? you could say yasmeen too exotic for middle america, they don't want to risk hurting sales its the same argument people use when they say putting a black model on the cover hurts sales. but yasmeen did really well, she got the crucial vogue italia cover in 1991, plus she did great in german vogue (a caucasian market) she was a favourite with the editor she had 7 covers one evey year from 1990 plus a few specials and interviews with her. she was the only model to have 2 covers in 1993 even when her look wasn't really in. she had more covers than linda, christy and claudia from 1990 to 1996 in german vogue

Can a person fall off,if they quit?! Thats pretty much what happened with Beverly...she walked away,so I don't consider that falling off. In her time she was definitely successful.
