LOL at all the scared and creeped out responses.
He was not a pimp in a 'Hookers at the Point', I beat my hos kind of way. So no long coke nails or pimp cups sorry.
As he explained it he couldn't get a 'normal' job in Paris because you need to get a work permit, which from personal experience is ridiculously hard to get.
He was broke as hell, and needed money and a friend of a friend hooked him up.
He was a 'liaison' if you will rather than a pimp; he asked people if they were looking to get some, and he was also an interpreter (he said his American clientele were college students that didn't really speak French) between prostitute and client. He also stayed by to 'translate' what the client wanted, LOL I can't even imagine what he must've seen O_O.
He also said he hosted a party at the old bordello he worked at as a type of joke/reunion with the prostitutes, and a bunch of celebs came, including Barbara Walters. Who he saw go up the stairs with 2 prostitutes; now THAT is some kind of woman!
This book is going straight to the top of my Christmas List!
