I checked the pics of the collab between Moncler and Giambattista Valli...OMG!! They were so good to the point I am wondering who is the guy nowadays claims to be Giambattista Valli; and where is the real one??

Simple. He fell victim to designing for social media. That's why he constantly pushes those gigantic tulle and taffeta dresses for his Couture shows every season. Look at his earlier eponymous collections (2005-15) and his collections for Ungaro (2002-05).

The difference is so radical, that it seems there are 2 different designers under the same identity!

Oh no, I think she is severely underrated. I still search for pieces from her Gucci and Valentino tenures she had such a delicate touch yet it never felt very flimsy or wan.

I still dream about those embroidered funnel neck coats and the intricately pieced dresses from F/W 2005

Her name keeps being tossed around with a lot of good will, despite the fact that most of her jobs were very short-lived, which made it all the harder for her to establish a clear idea what her style is about.

One thing I will say is that she has a charismatic aura and a great personal style - I saw her a few times at industry events when she was fairly fresh in the limelight and her signature smoke-y eyes, statement jewelry and sleek Gucci-era pantsuits made her appear both seductive and aristocratic. If she was indeed to do her own brand, perhaps she should just build it around her own style of dressing and reduce a bit the flounce-y romantism she would sometimes turn towards…

She is the kind of designer having a fantastic personal style and will certainly embodying the spirit of her namesake label. I always like what she wore in her own designs when working for those brands.
