You mean their airfare and room isn't paid for by either the agency or the designer? How much do you think she'll be paid for a big-name show? And she keeps what - 75%? It's all very interesting.

A model wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for those things, but she will owe her agency. She will likely see no money from future jobs because the money will be kept by the agency to go towards paying off the debt. I imagine that Amanda would have earned little or more likely paid in clothes for the shows that she did. As a newcomer, even if she booked something like Chanel or Prada she would not have been made big bucks.

saucer-like is right. Fashion week costs models around $4000 - $6000 for each city. If she does 3 or 4 cities she may owe her agencies $15K - $20K -- any new job she gets will still have commissions and taxes removed - she'll be lucky if she gets 40% (which will just count against her debt anyway) definitely not 75%
