I finally got the interlock mini skirt this weekend. I sized up to a M. Plan to wear it with loose oversized sweaters and blouses.

Incidentally, I noticed a lot of middle-aged and elderly shoppers when I was there. I thought it was pretty cute. They were commenting to each other how exciting it was to find so many versatile pieces in one place.

I found when I was there that I had to keep reminding myself what my individual style is, and that some things, cute as they are, just won't work in my wardrobe. Like the lame and mesh pieces. :ninja:

i have the le sac dress. i got it when it first came out and was stoked about it. however ive only worn it about twice, and i think thats bc its a little long for me. im used to wearing mini dresses and the le sac dress goes ab knee length on me. it is very versatile though i just get lazy to play around and be creative.

The Le Sac Dress is so much fun, I love to wear it! You can create so many cool styles with it.

i don't own the le sac dress but a lot of my friends have it and i borrow it all the time, it really is fun and versatile, and it looks great on everyone! and there are so many different ways to wear it, i'd really recommend it!

thanks for the input! I am going to get one this weekend :)

I returned the Le Sac dress after wearing it once... I was helping out a girl at my store (not AA) and she was saying how she was going to buy it but the AA salesgirl said "everybody returns it" and another girl jumped in on the conversation saying she returned it too, haha. Too complicated and too much string!

Really? I have tried many styles out and I love the dress, it might takes some time to fix the strings but the results are pretty much cool.

Yeah, I don't know... I just felt like it fit me really poorly and it just felt like more trouble than what it was worth!

Wow I love my le sac. I would never think it would be returned so much.

Anyone actually work at American Apparel? Seeing as it's summertime and job hunting has officially commenced for myself, I just wanted to seek out some advice from current employees?!

What goes on during the casting call? How is the process of applying? It seems competitive, yet many of them are hiring, which comfort me somewhat.

Anyways, thanks in advanced if any current AA employees are willing to answer :)

AA is moving further away from what they're meant to be like imo. Like that swim suit is so UN-AA like. It's got a floral pattern and is not at all plain like AA used to be :/ Does anyone like it? Idk, it's quite nice I suppose but it really doesn't look like American Apparel.

Also, coming soon is a BED SHEET! woah, how exciting. And how much will they charge for a bog standard bed sheet? £100?!

I think their whole concept is 80's-vintage-Californian-hipster if that even make sense  so I think the swimsuit looks AA. I actually like that AA is branching out to different styles of clothing cuz they do a good job at bringing back vintage styles. What I don't like is their inconsistent quality and price...:innocent:

I think it's pretty well established that prices are higher outside the US, and maybe especially in the UK (since most price complaints cite prices in £.) In the US the prices are reasonable, IMO, considering the on-shore manufacturing, wage and health benefits for workers.

I have always heard about quality control issues, but I have been buying AA t-shirts and hoodies for years now, and I have had hardly any quality (durability, defect) issues. Size and fit variation is a different story; lengths and sleeve widths do vary noticeably with the same tagged size.

A couple of random reviews:

  1. The viscose (sexuali) tees pill really easily. A car seat belt will do it.
  2. The "see through" tanks (and t-shirts, I guess) are incredibly soft. I like them better than the viscose. They are fragile and snag easily but I think the snags look pretty cool, and these are layering pieces anyway, unless you are an exhibitionist. I would not try putting them in a washing machine, though.

WOooo

They brought out the dress I wanted in Metallic Teal...I am SO happy, I can now wear it to my 21st birthday party at a cocktail bar on Friday :) wooo :woot:

so i went to aa today to buy my friend a bday present but i ended up buying lots of stuff for myself too :/

i purchased the sweetheart two tone dress (in black, wanted the teal one but they didnt have any), see thru tank (grey), viscose dolman sleeve t in white (it looks great! i guess its not an online exclusive?), short sleeve hoodie t, another sash belt (bright pink!), tshirt dress (black), and the floppy hat in black (finally, ive been wanting it for forever!) .. ugh too much stuff! i wanted to see the fringe mini dress but it wasnt in stores, oh well i should probably make that myself anyway

oh and btw the le sac dresses are shorter than the original ones (the one i got when it first came out) and they are so much more wearable! im so jealous i never wear mine bc its too long. they also have ones in different/pretty materials w/ braided straps

^i love the sweetheart dress too. But I didn't want to get it in black because almost my entire closet is full of black clothes. They only had the orange one as an alternative (does it come in teal as well?) but I found that too bright. Would have loved it if it had been a nude tone.

Tried on the dolman sleeve tee as well and loved it but wasn't sure if I should get another white slightly oversized tee.

yeah i have the same problem velony, i have like 10 expensive basic white loose tees haha but i love the sleeve length and how it drapes. and have way too many black clothes but oh well, more flattering form fitting dress? and yes they have it in a like a mint/teal color on the site.
