Ana Beatriz Barros | Page 293 | the Fashion Spot

Ana Beatriz Barros

there's just a tiny little backstage pic inside where you can see the outfit a little better.

She's on the cover of Unit magazine december issue.

Thanks for the heads up, bill! Here it is:

Love it! Is it a reprint, though? The inside ed obviously is and the article doesn't say anything new either. But I'm not sure about the cover, I feel like I've seen it before, too.

Thanks for the news billarruda and thanks for posting, Sasha!

I actually missed a page of the ed - only just realized now, I was in such a hurry to post it this morning before rushing into work! The cover seems new to me....but I'm not 100% sure either. Which makes me think maybe it's an outtake of some other shoot we have seen, maybe that's why it looks familiar? :P

the cover reminds of that advs she did for jeans brand, bw, cannot remember the name.... she posed with a male model...

Not a very flattering pic I would say. The dress looks nice but it seems like she isn't wearing any make-up and looks tired.

I actually think that she looks gorgeous, but she's clearly not very focused on the camera so the picture looks a little strange.

I love seeing her natural like that.

I really don't see what's unflattering there. Ana and Patricia look stunning even with very little make up. Thanks for the pic ^_^

Not A Diva

ANA BEATRIZ BARROS may have appeared on the catwalk for Victoria's Secret, and found fame in her underwear for Marks & Spencer, but don't expect any diva demands from her.

"I always emphasise how professional you have to be in this job," she told the Times. "You can't be a diva - they never last long. You have to be on time and take care of yourself. You sell your image. That's the job, not partying or travelling, but selling your image. It's hard... Yesterday I went out to dinner and I could hear people saying my name! My boyfriend was like, 'You're famous now!'. I'm really happy, because that means I did my job well and I'm getting the results back - and that was my goal."

But that doesn't mean it's all work for the Brazilian model; there are moments when she appreciates the spectacle and glamour of her profession - like when she's on the Victoria's Secret catwalk.
"[It's] like being in another world - just amazing," she said. "It's a big deal in America, everybody watches it; it's like the World Cup! They want to see the glamour and the beauty and the fetish of the fashion. At the same time as Justin Timberlake is performing you are walking up the catwalk wearing wings, with glitter on the floor. That's glamorous!"

Do you know why Ana BB wasn't in the show in 2010? Was it scheduling conflicts or was she just not booked? I just can't imagine them saying no! She would have been perfect for Wild Things.

someone in this thread said that VS wouldn't pay her how much she wanted
but I'm not sure whether or not I believe that (even if she is a veteran of the show/brand)

I read in a recent interview (if I understood the crappy Portugese -> English translation properly) that for the same days as VSFS, she had a bunch of work in Brazil lined up: the ELLE cover shoot, a new commercial/campaign for Monange, and another campaign she couldn't reveal yet. So I think the gist is more that she'd earn more doing those 3 things in Brazil than doing VSFS and obviously it makes sense that VS just has a standard pay rate and isn't going to increase it just for her, you know?

^I agree. That makes much more sense than those other rumours. Why would she go the VS castings and then suddenly demand more money when she's done their shows so many times already and knows how important VS is concerning exposure and all. Doing VS doesn't seem to be about the money. But I can understand she wanted to do the other jobs instead.
I really like her attitude in that little Vogue UK profile. I really admire all the Brazilian models of her generation for being so prefessional and ambitious. Dri and Ale seem to have a similar attitude, still working hard, giving their best and enjoying it after all these years
