Documentary that dissects the universe of super models enter into poster
The early career of a model until his consecration in the market - and everything in between those two points - are all featured in the documentary "Top Models - A Brazilian Fairy Tale," which goes on display on June 17 movie theaters in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia.
Directed by Richard Lewis and produced by Luminosity Prototype and Film, the production was born during the celebrations of ten years SPFW, in 2005, when the main Brazilian models were shot by Bob Wolfenson to schedule a special event. Paul Bennett, founder of the project, realized that their stories were interwoven with SPFW and started thinking in the design of a documentary that portrays the trajectory of these models. The film went on to earn a pre-premiere in 2009, during the Sao Paulo Fashion Week, but only now released in commercial circuit by adding more information and images collection.
Blending reality and fiction, "Top Models" tells the story of dedicated professionals like Shirley Mallman, Gisele Bundchen, Isabeli Fontana and Raquel Zimmerman, and bring reports of fashion industry players like Paul Bennett, Paul Martinez, Giovanni Frasson and Mario Testino about what makes the Brazilian tops stand out in this profession.
The part of the fiction begins with the narration of actress Alice Braga, who plays a journalist interested in unveiling the backstage world of models, and follows with the scenes of the new face Luana Dechery in search of job opportunities in Sao Paulo. In an interview with FFW, director Richard Luiz explains why touch fictional: "The intention was to show all stages of the career of a model, as we talked with tops that began some 14 or 15 years, we use these scenes 'fitted' to show how the top of the profession. "
Between the interviews and the rich collection of images, Richard stands out as the highlight of the documentary when the models talk about their achievements. "They all have very clear in his head the idea that an hour's career will end - but for the tops that we interviewed, it is not over. I think pretty much when they tell of the pride we have in the profession, because they have experienced much difficulty, and speaking career with tears in his eyes, "he says.
