Ankle boots + skirts...

softgrey looking great in that outfit. I adore that skirt and bid for it on sale on ebay today....I lost it. The boots look good. what would opaque tights be like?

good question helena...

:ninja:...i'm going to find out soon enough because it's going to get cold might quick...
but i think the whole outfit will have to change if i add tights...
the colour balance will be thrown off completely...no?...

what do you think?...
blk or grey tights?...
maybe grey ribbed?...
i'm VERY open to suggestions...

hmmm yes I suppose you are right. I think grey would be nice but maybe those thicker ones ...llike the prada tights...slightly marled. I know Falke do some nce ones. Black would be lovely I think but without the pinkish top and just with plain black and a black coat?and maybe a grey scarf? I adoer the skirt so much though

i have some armani marled wool tights...i'll try those then...
but they itch a bit...:ninja:...
the ribbed ones are pretty thick too though...

*that skirt really needs something longer over top of it though...
told you about the funny waistline, no?...

Soft, Curious looking gorgeous! :crush:
you guys can really pull it off!

So, I'm loving the look. ^_^

Edit - Ohh and Chanel, those boots sure is dreamy.
Trying to find a place where I can buy them...

no funny waist how?

hard to explain...
maybe i just bought the wrong size...
but the waist is thick...
(the fabric is very thick and it's dbl at the wst...w/piping)
and i can't tell where it is supposed to sit, low or high...
plus it just pulls in a funny way across the tummy...
**you know marni.....
...gorgeous but hard to wear...

can i ask how much it went for on ebay out of curiosity?...

B)...thanks tine...

softgrey I dunno I stopped bidding at $185. I dunno how much it went for.

I think I know what you mean about the waist. I think I have a skirt like that.....do you have a grey coat? a grey coat would be nice....

Hmmm...thank you for the pics! :D

Softgrey, I really like the shape of the skirt. If I decide to give this look a try, I will try with a skirt like the one you posted.

very cool spookygirl...

helena...
i actually have a pic with a coat too...^_^...
i tried with a grey jil sander jkt-but it was too matchy...
and i tried the brn suede vintage-but it just wasn't sexy...
the best one was this faux fur peacoat style (agnes b)...
grey mohair marled scarf made for me by my mom...

-edit-just realized the boots are different here...but you get the idea...:D

*sounds like a damn good price for that skirt actually....

softgrey that looks good too...the scarf works really well I think...seems to pull it all together. Now that with grey marl tights & the ankle boots would be excellent I think.

ok good...
then i have ONE outfit for fall...lordy...!!

................

...

soft !
i adore this look too !
& i see the boots too in the backgrnd . . . w/the lil bows

^^^ oh you are too modest...I am sure you have more than one.

i did the ankle boot/skirt thing last winter a la gucci:

for me, it worked better with a pencil skirt and ankle boots that didn't stray too far above my ankle bone (since my legs are skinny...higher boots look funny)

i love that sweetest...
and that blue coat is AMAZING!!!...

:woot:

thx chanel...*i know...the bows really are :crush: ...
i love them so much...
i want to wear them as much as possible...

helena...
i don't know...i'm still working on it...
:ermm:

thanks for all the pics. I never wear my ankle boots and I need some serious inspiration

I have always regarded this look as a no-go,but recently I've realised that short boots with skirts can look very stylish.

The rules seem to be...

*(Ok nice legs)
*Interesting short boots...doesn't work if it's just a higher shoe or a taller boot suddenly cropped off...I love the Moschino suede boots with the bows, those MJ boots and the Chloe calf length ones...
* Very careful attention to the length of both the skirt and the boots...it's important which "segment" of leg shows,if anyone understands what I mean.

I think this look works very well if you're otherwise playing with volume too...fitted jacket and full skirt, for example.

VERy well modelled by Softgrey and Curious:flower:
