Loose T-Shirts

Don't you love 'em when they are that big that they can be reconverted into a short dress or a mini with leggings...?

i think it cases like that ^ it's better if there is some sort of detail on the shirt so it doesn't just look like you are in a nightie.. or wearing a t-shirt without pants on. balenciaga had something like that i think in s/s 07, the one with the metal leggings. on its own it looked good enough to be worn as a dress

i've met a lot of girls who just wear a big t-shirt to sleep

I love this trend but I can't seem to find shirts that fit. I have a long torso and I'm rather slight, so going up a size to fit the length makes me look like I'm wearing a pillowcase.

Where can I find extra-long teeshirts that would work for a small body?

^I love this trend too but can't find shirts that fit me either. For some reason, V-neck T's look horrible on me. I feel self conscious about my chest (32C but a small waist so it seems even bustier!) and want to downplay it in drapey tees. Any suggestions on what kind of tees, brands? Thanks

what about a boat neck? ^

there's also a smaller one called oblong collar

^You're right! I look better in boat necks. Oblong collar, not sure what that is, perhaps a link or picture? Any brand suggestions?

Urban Outfitters has a bunch of boat neck over-sized t-shirts. I have about 2 myself, and they were on sale :D

You can find them pretty much anywhere, though.

oblong's like this, only smaller.. closer to the neck

anyway it's probably not as common as boat neck off the rack
i see it mostly for evening wear.. but if you could knit... ^_^

^Thanks! I do own several dresses with that "oblong collar", just had no idea it was called that. Ha, now I know why certain types of shirts will look better on me...

I think this might work with my freakishly long torso. I only wish it came in more colors...

I havnt read the whole thread, but when i think of loose t-shirt, i think of a shirt dress

I have a loose t-shirt from H&M (divided red) that basically is a shirt dress, but I've figured out how to tuck it in without bunching so it just looks like an oversized shirt (and not a shirt with a diaper)

To those of you who are familiar with KAIN label styles and fitting: do you prefer the drop sleeve pocket tee or the kimono tee?

I would like to order one but it is hard to tell how they are from pictures. Especially the kimono one is hard to distinguish how it is cut. If you could describe or show better detail pics I would love you!:D

I am sold on the fabric description, but I don't want to spend that much money on a Tshirt I haven't seen if I can't really tell how it is made. The drop sleeve is easier to figure out, but the kimono . . . is it a bunch of draped fabric in the armpit? is that weird? it seems to sell out on shopbop so it's apparently popular but I'm unsure.

drop sleeve pocket

either those colors or black is what I would choose. and I'm leaning towards the drop sleeve based on predictability of the cut. Thanks in advance!:flower:

^ Ok so the fabric is amazing. No issue there  The modal/silk blend gives a very relaxed fit and their tees drape over the body beautifully. I have seen the kimono style in the flesh, and to answer your question about the sleeve detailing, I can say that it definitely has a 'bat-wing' appearance...I haven't tried it on so I cannot say how it does appear when worn, but I did find two images from bloomingdales.com that may help you decide between the two. If you want to have a closer look you can do so here :flower:

Good luck!

aaah. thank you!:flower: it gives me a much better idea to see them on a model. karma to you!

eta: althought the kimono looks good and is "must have", I think I prefer how relaxed the drop sleeve with pocket looks. It compliments the idea of a loose drapey T IMO.

oh it just means there is no seam there at the shoulder to armpit

like cuiviénen says, it can fit like a batwing..quite loose
but there are also other ways to cut it so that it fits quite close

so the best advice is to try it on
