'ANTM' To Have Vogue Italia Cover as a Prize

Beauty In Vogue is actually the name of the supplement.

So it's probably for the November issue then (I think May & November get the beauty supplements...)

IMG New York is now confirmed as the winner's agency for Cycle 16. Perhaps it was also the winner's agency in Cycle 15 as well?

ALSO - What's the difference between Beauty in Vogue and Vogue Beauty? I'm still not sure what the deal is because Tyra says Vogue Italia but the website says Beauty in Vogue...I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It's likely that one of the two editorials will be in the actual Vogue Italia.

Ah, kinda disappointing now that it's not the actual cover. I mean, yeah it's still a ton better than what others got, but after the initial news, this feels like a letdown.

This news confuses me. Weren't we originally told that it would be the cover (with Tyra) along with two separate spreads? Now they say the cover of Beauty in Vogue. What about the two spreads?

As for whether or not this will make a difference: In the ratings? Probably yes. In the quality of winner? Probably no. My understanding is that CoverGirl has the lion's share of the decision-making power. CoverGirl gave us Whitney over Anya/Katarzyna/Fatima and Saleisha over Heather/Lisa/Ebony/Jenah. Even with IMG/Sephora in Cycle 2, we got Yoanna instead of Shandi.

I thought there would be a difference whenn André Leon Talley joined the judging panel but he was instrumental in keeping Alasia over Gabrielle(!). I don't have my hopes up.

Maybe the winner will get a cover and a spread in the Beauty In Vogue section, plus an editorial in the main magazine?

The recent article that surfaced confuses me, it's kind of vague to be honest. I don't see why Tyra would say "not on page 173 next to an anti aging cream ad" if she were not referring to the actual cover of the magazine. Plus hasn't she been quoted in interviews many times already saying it would be the actual cover? I dunno I think it's just a typo/misunderstanding. Or atleast I hope it is ...Oh well, either way it's a HUGE step up.

Yeah she and Mr jay said categorically that it would be Vogue Italia...I'm really disappointed, but maybe they mean that one of the two eds will be Beauty in Vogue, as the model on the cover usually also has the ed inside the supplement magazine. However it is unlikely that the winner will be on the cover of Vogue Italia and Vogue in Beauty, unless it's two separate months...

Yeah, thats what I don't understand either. Especially since it's been referred to as just Vogue Italia this whole time but in one article/blog it says Beauty In Vogue. I mean read this

Italian Vogue editor in chief Franca Sozzani initially reached out to Banks, stressing she wanted to expand into the American marketplace (hello, Anna!). As part of the new partnership, Sozzani agreed to give the winner of season 15 an Italian Vogue cover and two in-book fashion spreads. Banks also serves as a permanent contributor to the magazine’s Web site. “I see a lot more in store for Italian Vogue and Bankable Enterprises across multiple media platforms,” she added. The show is already in more than 100 countries and has 17 international editions.

I still think there will AT LEAST be one editorial in the main magazine, but we'll see.

On August 8th, it will be a month until this cycle airs and the models are normally released a month before the show airs so we should be finding out who's on this cycle sometime in the next 7 days.

I think it's wierd that Steven Meisel's name hasn't come up yet. I think if it were the main cover his name would have been mentioned. Has Patrick Demarchelier ever shot beauty in Vogue? Maybe that's why he's there, because he's going to shoot the winner for Vogue Italia (not for the cover but for the editorials).

Also if I were a viewer of ANTM and the name Vogue Italia was being banded about, I would be very disappointed if I went out to buy the magazine and then not see the winner on the cover but instead on some poxy beauty ed supplement. I don't know how Franca expects Americans and antm fans to go out and buy the magazine or become long term customers if they put the winner on a supplement cover....

Well, the previous Seventeen covers the winners got were only but back covers anyway, and I don't know whether it is a seriously major magazine in the US But I think Vogue trumps Seventeen anytime so the supplement should be a pretty decent prize for the winner.

Here is one of the girls, Ann. A screencap from a promo...

Actually Patrick Demarchelier very rarely shoots for Vogue Italia. He works mainly for the US, British, Chinese and French versions.

HAH! :D HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well. It's a step up from Seventeen, that's for sure. But somehow I'm happy that out of all Vogues it would be Italia. Esp If Meisel's agreed to this, the result should turn out more interesting than anything ANTM has ever dished out, even if he was running low on battery. I'm only glad that it wasn't Vogue Paris. :P

definitely an upgrade from working with "world renowned" photographer Gilles Bensimon (who again?)

You know, it's funny you should say that, because the first time they used "world renowned" photographer Bensimon (Cycle 3 in 2004, I think?), I already knew who he was. ^_^

VI?? Roberto Cavalli? This is major. I've become so traumatized since I watched Cycle 14 that I recoil at anything related to ANTM. AusNTM profuces good models and more realistic but yes, it's not as fun as ANTM.

I am sick of the drama and sob stories the models tell the judge. I am sick even more of the way the judges lap it up. And I never took a liking to this Andre Leon guy (WHAT was UP with that ridicolous french phrase thing he kept saying over and over?? i hated it!)

If this means Tyra will make the show more realistic and be more personal with the girls like in the earlier cycles, then I'll watch it. not now though- still kinda traumatised

Tyra Banks may have already scooped up some controversy with what she calls a “misconstrued” promo for America’s Next Top Model, but her show is moving ahead with a new promo that reveals some highly fashionable guest judges for its 15th season.
Fashion editor André Leon Talley and photographer Nigel Barker will return to the panel and sit next to Tyra, but the full list of top names judging alongside them this season has a distinctly Italian flair. Milan, anyone?
Designers Roberto Cavalli Diane Von Furstenberg, Patricia Field and Zac Posen, photographers Matthew Rolston, Patrick Demarchelier, Francesco Carrozzini, models Karolina Kurkova, Margherita Missoni and fashion experts Kyle Hagler of IMG Models and Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, will all appear on ANTM when it returns to the CW Sept. 8. Check out a preview of the new season. –Cynthia Wang
