ANTM - True to life, or strictly entertainment?

I try to explain that ANTMs don't really go anywhere in the high fashion but they...look at me like 'WTF, they're still models'

I'm with you on that one. People just assume that ANTM is considered high-fashion, but it isn't.

I do watch ANTM. Not religiously, like before though. Do I watch for the photoshoots? Not for the design or the concepts, since they are used, old and boring. Do I watch it because it's fashion? No.
I watch it for the drama and for fun. I couldn't care less about who did great work, since none of them are incredible anyway. I just watch it for the b*tch-fights.

It's entertainment, although I think that it's not that "real" despite the tag "reality tv". I think they also create some drama for the show as well.

i think that Tyra in chase for ratings really lost the control of the show... i really dont think that it was her original intent for show to end up like this...

The girls on Tyras Top Model can continue working in the industry...IMO the winner ends up as the biggest loser of the show, being branded as tyras TOP MODEL really closes a lot of doors!

The show has progressively gotten worse and worse each season. To the point where it's completely unwatchable anymore, it just seems scripted to me now.

the only "next top model" show i really watch (for entertainment) is the canadian one.

I can't stand tyra and some of the stuff she says. I remember in one, a girl had gotten eliminated and at the end she said something like "Oh im missing my prom for this" and tyra gave some really lame remark back about how so many girls would kill for this. The girl didnt even mean it in a mean way, she was just upset.

That and smiling with your eyes. Im pretty sure she says it at least 3 times an episode.

Totally fake but at least it used to be funny.
I used to stan so hard for this show...now I feel really stupid for liking it. Just sometime during season 11-12 it got so ! Surprised it's gonna go until season 16..........
