Apple or PC?

^ Well... I love my PowerBooks. I've gone through a lot of them during the years, I have two atm. My twin is returning from the dark side btw, he's getting a PowerBook after spending years in the Windows worls. :magic:

I've been using iBooks, Power Macs, Mac minis and iMacs at work but they're not an option for me.

I have an ipod video and so far have not had a problem with it. All my family have PC's so I would be the only one with a Mac. Such a bloody hard decision!

Design-wise, Apple.
User-wise, PC.

I just hate the navigations and things in the Apple comp.

Question for any Apple users...how do you resize (shrink) pictures in iPhoto or Preview?

I think the machine to end all debates between all Apple and PC users have finally arrived... the MacBook Pro

It's essential an Intel version of the PowerBook, although the Mac OS is running on it, I believe that it is possible to get the Win Xp running on the MacBook Pro on a dual boot (ie a laptop running 2 operating systems)

Dreams do come true

Of course, before my powerbook even turns 1 it becomes completely outdated.....I still love it though :)

I can't stand people that tell me "oh, you're a photo major? You should be using an apple"
I use a P.C. for all my work, designs and photo manipulations.
Photoshop does the same thing for me that it would do in an apple. I have a powerbook for when I travel. But my desktop is a pc, and always will be.

Way too late to answer, but....

in iphoto, select the picture, go to file>export, and then you can change the pixel height/width before exporting....might be another way but that's how I do it :p

yup, that is one of the true cons...
a friend (jokingly) complained that I was too materialistic because I was complaining over the fact that only FOUR MONTHS later apple rereleased a FASTER and CHEAPER version of my iMAC G5.

i started on apple. the first family computer was a Mac..
then for some strange reason, when it was time to get 'my own' computer', i went to PC.
and now i'm back on a Mac OS. and i don't know how i ever dealt with a PC...
i got my iBook in july..
my friend got a dell laptop in august.
hers is completely ruined right now (working so slow, getting popups, regardless of what she's put on it in the world of antivirus), it's going in to get fixed..
mine is still like it's brand new, and i haven't done anything, lol.
i will never go to PC again.

People who use PCs with windows are all narrow-minded and can't get used to anything new :p

Seriously though, windows is a very clunky system. Loads of people only have it because of the very dodgy monopoly Gates has. Whenever I use my old PC laptop, I realise how user unfriendly it really is.

Apple's have crap hardware. This cannot be said enough times. The Mac is the ultimate hairdressers' computer (no offense to hairdressers, it's a figure of speech).

Top end PC: 3.8 Ghz
Top end Mac: 2.5 Ghz

PC = t4h pwn0xr.

.

oh, but i use apple.

apple 'runs' in my family, we've never had a pc in our house. we're like the mac pioneers, we've been using it for decades, even when mac was practically going out of business and mac-heads were considered un-cool and were almost on the brink of instinction.

I am about to move to Italy, Milan in particular and about to go to fashion school, anyone has any idea on what kind of computer (lap-top) is best? And also, where should i buy it, in States or Italy?

Be careful when considering Ghz rating: Because Mac develops(ed) both their hardware and software, they've been able to optimize their software to run on their hardware thus allowing it to run faster than an average PC.

A top end Mac runs considerably slower than a top end PC on all of the benchmark tests any serious computer power hog looks at.

I really don't care about the terrible machines other people choose to use, I just want it to be known that there are very good reasons for not using a Mac...
