Applying foundation - fingers, sponge or brush

does anyone have any experience with the shu uemura goat hair brush and studio fix foundation?

im used to applying foundation with my hands and have recently changed foundation from chanel vitalumiere to mac studiofix as i cant find my shade anymore in chanel and i find that for winter studiofix has a bit more coverage which is good but i feel that when i apply studiofix with my hands it doesnt blend in all that well.

since i use mineral/powder foundation- i always use the MAC 182 dome kabuki. i love it! it's definitely not a cheap buy but i think it's totally worth it.
It also sheds quite a bit depending on the batch you get them from but the effect it gives makes picking lil pieces of brush hair off my face kinda worth it

It has fantastic reviews everywhere. I received it as a gift from the bf today - I will let you know how it works out for me tomorrow. Gonna do some crazy New Years makeup!

i looked online a bit and what i heard is generally people saying they used the small tip instead of using it sideways like it is said to be used by shu uemura.cant wait to hear the review!

I use a foundation brush from Make Up Store. Then I use my fingers for blending.

I love the foundation brush. It isn't streaky at all. The application is very smooth... It's just a great brush in general. The only downside is that you'll have to wash it very often or it starts to get streaky, but you're supposed to do that anyway

Using the MAC no. 190 brush to apply foundation -bobby brown-
I use my fingers when I apply my concealer, and a sponge to even everything out.

The MAC 109 (not the 190) is pretty good I'd say. Need to try it out with some more foundations, but so far I like it

a few days ago i was given the chanel foundation brush as a gift but i was impulsive and insisted that i return it to spend the 40 dollars it costed on a few mac lipsticks. foolish, i know, but i had only really heard about the mac and louise foundation brushes... didn't want to use it in case i didn't like it. now i'm reading up about it on makeupalley.com and i'm regretful because it seems everyone loves it. tis what i get i suppose.

^I use the MAC 109 for foundation. Love it. Never tried anything better. Yes, it's intended for blush. but it is BRILLIANT for foundation I must say.

I haven't tried it but just because a lot of people love this one, doesn't mean a similar style from a different brand isn't just as good! For me the brush depends on the type of foundation I'm using - at the moment I'm using a thicker liquid which goes on best with a stiffer, more dense brush (Armani). For a lighter foundation, or tinted moisturiser, one like the Mac 190 work better. I know Belowen likes the Beauty Blender Sponge, others like Mac 187, Sephora Airbrush 55...even your fingers can be your best tool!

Miu Miu is right, I think the Beauty Blender is amazing. If you're able to get it, and are willing to spend the money on it I would definitely recommend trying it out!

Sponge. I love Origins' Stay Tuned Balancing Foundation. Use a q-tip to put a little on your hand (back of hand). Use any finger but your index finger to dab a little on red spots. Blend with sponge.

or... fingers! I think fingers are precise for liquid makeup and I've tried brushes and sponges but I feel like I waste way more makeup than I need to. Plus I don't want to clean any more tools than I need to.

I use fingers to save product. Agree with ChanelAddicted... sponge wastes too much foundation. Just make sure your fingers are clean and that you smooth it on softly -- don't want to cause any irritation or get premature wrinkles.

If you want to save the productyou should try a foundation brush

Lately I've been loving the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (I use it with Bourjois CC Cream) and I've been using it over my (all time favourite) Expert Face Brush.
