i think Josh Homme did a good job as producer. Their sound is different, but I really like it! Unfortunately, i didn't get to catch them when they played at the hollywood palladium on the 15th. They must be good live? I've heard from co-workers that they are-I just need to see them, hopefully soon!
I havent really heard any of the new album yet, but I did see them at Reading and it was SO different to when I saw them in... 2006? Just after the first album came out, that gig was amazing, very energetic and crazy.
Their set at reading created a totally different vibe, but I liked it. Their new stuff sounds really mature and they've definately progressed in a different direction. Was with a few friends who only know their hits (I bet you look good.., brianstorm etc) and they were a bit disappointed and thought the set was 'boring'. I liked that it was a new side to them though, I was quite impressed
Dance Little Liar, Cornerstone and The Jeweller's Hands are my favourites. I only discovered recently that there is a counselling centre in Sheffield called the Cornerstone.
A video of them playing ping pong on their current US tour with The Like
my favorite songs are dance little liar and the jeweller's hands (especially the ending). i really got into all the songs except pretty visitors so far.
"it's been long enough now so let's make a mess, lioness" ; )
That last picture is just creepy to me... ha. Yeah, the Crying Lightning video is pretty trippy & bizarre (in a good way I think), but they could have done more with it, it's pretty boring.
