Aski Kataski

thanks SomethingElse
mina perhonen too made some "cake" for the event if I remember rightly

Great thread! Thank you runner
I like his mixing of different fabrics... It's very textural and tactile

The 'antique' idea reminds me of Shinsaku Maehama ...
Is this aesthetic very popular now in Japan?
I also think of CCP, Carpe Diem, and even Julius

I'd say it's not very popular in Japan, although discovering new things by studying the past is one of their usual practice.
most people don't even know of golem etc.
but apparently there is room for little labels with that kind of aesthetic to be active on a small scale.
so, volga volga is actually tokyo based now, and takayuki suzuki just did his first runway show.
I think it has been noticeable since about the mid 90's when some people earnestly started searching for the insecure charm that the products almost like the incarnation of prometheus (or apollo) have lost, which CdG A/W 04 might trigger.

It's still quite magical. The overall presentation is so sedately gorgeous, I think. The 'washed' (???) leather pieces and the lighter colored pieces are particularly beautiful. The slightly 'worn-feeling' adds such a touch of personal beauty to it. As if these clothes are truly one's skin... they've seen, relished, and weathered through life. So inspiring when garments manage to tell a story...

:crush:

Thanks, Runner!

'darkness, light, earth, sun, and truth'; all elements that are certainly prevelent within Katsuhiro's s/s 08 philosophy...

I was thinking of this line the other day runner, do you know where he's stocked for s/s 08?

some seriously delectable pieces!

^^^oh, it's magical. I'm absolutely in love with the textures and the ever muted, utter romantic palette he always uses. The corsetry element also remains...It's just so lovely

i love this thread
i want the brown jacket in post #26!

This is lovely!
the cohesion of materials and textures is beautiful... love the treatment of fabrics..
there's so much going on without appearing (too) overwhelming.. just enough to notice the individual pieces that appeal to you (and really really want now... )
thank you runner
