i was wondering why i have seen new YY interviews lately...
must be out in public to keep the brand recognition in advance of the new label launch...

this sounds like old school yohji...
which is good...

better not have giant B's all over the collection though!

any info on if it will be available outside of YY retail stores?

about the points of sale there is not any mention in particular except what is written in the first post. but I think it is possible that any retailer who deals with the femme line carries this new collection of about 70 styles too, if they like.

the young design team is the main engine here, though with yohji as a supervisor standing by them. it's not like Y's where basically he has not been involved at all for a while.

yes maybe
checked a bit, and as of may 2016, YY inc has 14 womens lines, 3 mens lines, 2 accessories lines, 2 web lines, 1 (sort of) private line, 1 collabo line, 3 license lines.
the company has been making record profits for the past few years.

yes we have already been knowning they are doing well since things you were interested in tended to be sold out.

private as in private label
it's ground Y.
ground Y is originally their own select shop where they sell various lines from YY inc at parco. and there is a line labelled ground Y too.

btw, parco shibuya is gone this month though it was a bit of a historical cultural thing, and it is to be reborn in a few years.

omg- i was in parco more than once on my trip...
it's this huge building!
having it empty for a few years seems like it would be losing a LOT of money~!
...

over here, they would always conduct renovations while keeping parts of the store open...

though i guess the impact of the renovation is sort of lost because there is never really a big new grand opening...

the nyc soho uniqlo store did a grand re-opening for their 10 yr anniversary in NYC...
*cannot believe it has been that long!!



saw some of the BLACK BLACK stuff...
it's showing up in shops and online now...
every store that carries it seems to have purchased the piece that says BLACK BLACK on the back...
makes me think that it was a requirement...
of course, i don't know if they can do that, but it would be a good way to market the new brand...

anyway...
i think it's mostly too oversized for me to be able to pull off...


edit to add---that silly BLACK BLACK writing has brainwashed me...
i forgot that the brand is called B Yohji Yamamoto...
i've beeen calling it BLACK BLACK in my head...

the act we call dakiawase is illegal over here basically, and I too don't know if YY did it. but I know that's what altieri often does.

this version of the back might work for removing the brainwash.

yes parco has been something loved since the 70's. the curtain and the seats (with the fade in the shape of a heart) of the parco theater were recycled (seems like already sold out) to be alive at enthusiastic fans' places.
