Balenciaga Resort 2013

This is really really good!
I love when he goes for the essence of his design.
The colors and cuts are SO good.
This is really inspiring, just crossing my fingers for a a beautiful Spring colection.

I am quite liking this, with the exception of that pin stripe mess of a dress on Liu and those awful last four looks (i like the shoes though). this is all great

I thought the images in the first post looked promising, but now after seeing the collection, I don't know. Too pastel. And those boots are an abomination. They need to be burned.

The good thing though is that the pieces are not just weird for the sake of being weird.

Style.com reviews are very biased, to me this is just trash. Lady Gaga goes to the French Riviera. Before Balenciaga's space age looked kind of cool, but now its just gimmicky and out of touch. Grade 2 Stencil cut out dresses , hideous pants and gladiator sandals which look like hives. The thing is designers like Raf Simons and Phoebe Philo also design clothes with a futuristic touch but in a much more appealing way.

God shoes keep getting uglier and uglier with each collection...
Also the pastel section looks like something that could come straight off a Louis Vuitton collection

those shoes. THOSE SHOES. arts & crafts project gone wrong.

this is about the only look i can get behind

that and the prismatic cut jackets, those are cool. the majority is still questionable, even tho less questionable than what Ghesquiere has been doing recently. doesn't mean much tho.

Yes, those jackets are the best pieces. The cream frill pieces look like part of a graduate collection, this look is an absolute joke and the rest could have been designed by a questionably-pretty dress designer from New York.

ehh. i find that whenever Ghesquière strays from his usual hard hitting avant garde looks the results are more often than not rather effete. perhaps i've just been spoiled too much with his futuristic proportions (that i've grown quite accustomed to oddly enough, after getting past the usual shock) but this exercise in louche pastel frippery that's supposed to hark back to Cristobal Balenciaga's ballet inspirations just isn't enough of an invite to Resort. i wish he'd have made an extension to his corporate space age it-girl looks back in Fall 2012, that would've produced interesting results if done with enough restraint. these, meanwhile really could've been better, and there are indeed some interesting motifs here and there that they've sampled on, but the end results are just too lazy and undone. it remarkably does look like a graduate collection.

i guess not all people are loving it, and that's a good thing, means it's fresh. but it will grow on people, i'm sure. this is quite new and not what i expected from ghesquière. i'm loving it so much. looks like the perfect foreplay before the real spring summer show.

I like, the collection was better than F/W 12.13.

I like this better than other recent collections and dare I say that I like the shoes. I suspect that one of the improvements is in the styling, this collection is not as haphazard and cacophonous as others which has been a frustration that I have had with Balenciaga in recent times. One issue that I do have is that the drapey fabric, especially in the last few looks, it looks like cheap polyester from the 1970s.

Aside these hideous shoes, I quite like this collection, It's very fresh and feminine.

LOL! i laugh so hard looking at those collection, the color are just super nice, but i don't really have any idea to wear those things.. the shoes especially.. just omg..

i am in love with those origami heels, but i hate those low-heel sandals with passion.
other than that, really good and very gentle collection i have to say.
